I wish all you holier-than-thou BBQ chucklefucks would just shut the fuck up already.

Good BBQ is good BBQ. Doesnt matter vinegar or tomato. Or que' so damn good you dont need any kinda sauce to make you wanna smack your inbred momma/sister. And any knuckledragging mouthbreather can write a book/blog/or get a TV cooking show these days, spewing their opinions to the masses.

This is basically the same type of argument of Israel vs Palestine. Your entire view on a subject is clouded by the misfortune of you being born on one side or the other of a coin-toss. And nomatter the side of the coin you got, you'll go to the grave "knowing" that your side is right.

this place is awesome. my favorite pho in the area now.

I found an awesome gyro spot today in my quest to spite Gussy's ridiculous prices. It's called Med Grill and Grocery and it's in the cut behind HWY 55 but it's insanely good and very cheap, especially for the amount of meat you get. It's legit as hell - right beside a Muslim school and it has the full market and plays Al Jazeera (sp?) or whatever on the TV in there. No frills, just awesome food. Will get the kebabs next time and the sides are on display and looked amazing.

^That kabab place isnt far from my house. I've eaten there a few times. It's legit.

I also ate at Bowl of Pho a few weeks ago. While the food was good, the place smelled so damn bad it'll keep me from going back. Maybe takeout someday. Maybe. And it was humid..tables and chairs sticky, pointy elbows, etc.

I've been a few times and never noticed a smell any different than other Pho places, maybe give them another shot?

^Yup...I live close to there and got to-go for dinner one time and was impressed. Ended up getting a bento box, which was great. They are not busy in the evenings either b/c that side of the shopping center is still signing tenants. A great find and the owners are sweet.

So far Pipers has been awesome for me. loving their $8 lunch option with a salad. everything is always fresh and tasty.

Gussys has been meh. Probably won't be going back. Chicken is awesome. Gyro lunch special is ok. Hummus is some of the worst I've ever had. Tastes like it was made in a factory a month ago.

Had a few things at Pho 9. Will definitely be going back.

V's Kitchen was damn good. I could eat there every day.

Cheerz was just ok for me. I'll try a different sandwich next time.

Tried the lunch buffet at Baba Ghannouj and won't be back. Some of it was good, much of it not. But I guess I'm too used to Sassool/Neomonde for that kind of food.

[Edited on August 22, 2016 at 11:16 AM. Reason : Blue Ridge Deli didn't do it for me either]

Gussy's is too expensive for what it is. They continue to have food truck a la carte prices even though they have an actual location now. Med Grill and Grocery is much better and cheaper.

What did you get at Cheerz? The roast beef is really their main thing. Great quantity/quality of meat for your money. Their philly is terrible though.

Baba Ganouj is good for what it is. It's an all you can eat buffet, it's not going to be stellar.

I miss the lunch spots in RTP but I don't miss the commute. I need to make my way over to Med sometime though.

Yeah, and I wouldn't mind paying the premium if the food was that damn good, but it's not for me. I will say they usually have a more affordable daily lunch special.

Think it was like an american...turkey roast beef and maybe ham with all the toppings. I'll go straight roast beef next time.

Hummus just didnt have any flavor to me. Like straight ground chickpeas with oil on top. Fatoush was good...some of the meat was ok.

I ate at Baba a lot when I was doing low carb. Would basically eat all of their kebab and gyro meat with some tzatziki, tabouli, greek salad or whatever. For that it was excellent but I still thought most stuff was decent.

I hear great things about Café Meridian. I live less than a mile from there for the last 6 years and still haven't made it by there for lunch though.

Hit up Med Grill and Grocery today. Shit was legit, but they could use a few additional side options.

Finally stumbled across Backyard BBQ today, and damn that shit is good. Had the $5 sandwich plate that comes with 2 sides (helluva deal), got mac and cheese and stew. Everything was phenomenal. Some of the best pork I've ever had, and the mac and cheese was incredible. Slaw was a little sweeter than I like, but still great. Banana pudding was perfect.

Can confirm, I ate there almost every Friday this summer and had to stop because, well...I didn't want to become a fat kid. That's it, I'm going this week!

Gussys has a brick & mortar? Their truck is fucking disgusting. The worst greek food I've ever had in my life. Cant imagine the B&M would be any better.
