So I thought I was buying a decent Cooler Master case for a new computer build. I knew it wasn't the highest quality case, but when fastening the motherboard down, the spacers for the mobo stripped the screw hole threads before the screws even fastened down the motherboard. I was gonna live with it until I learned that the punch-out tabs for the expansion cards extended beyond the motherboard, in essence forcing me to remove the mobo completely any time I needed to use another expansion slot.

Turns out, the RMA shipping cost is 75% of what I spent on the case. I know, you get what you pay for. So rather than returning the case for a nearly complete loss, does anyone know of any fixes for stripped screw holes on a metal case? A couple of the screw holes are difficult to access from both sides, so trying to hammer the hole a little to close it enough and return the bite of the screw threads might be impossible (not to mention, that would thin the already-flimsy metal). I wouldn't mind if the mobo spacers have to be permanently affixed to the case. Would soldering the spacers in possibly work?

Did you get some kind of knock-off case? Cooler Master cases are usually well made in my experience.

Not a knock-off, unless Newegg is now into selling knockoffs.
