I didn't think the GOP could up the clownshoes quotient of their 2012 primary, but here we are.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Hillary, but that had me scratching my head. Maybe referencing the international donors to the Clinton Foundation?

I did some research into Rick Santorum's platform. The guy is seriously a nutjob. One of the most ridiculous platforms is banning birth control for married couples because it interferes with "gods plan".

I think it is funny he criticized the pope for speaking out against global warming and stating "leave the science to scientists." I'm really confused since 95% of world scientists/climatologists (the other 5% i assume must be on the Kock brother payroll) believe human caused climate change is real. Climate change that Santorum rejects as a lie. I supposed he's paid by Uncle ExXon to disregard all climate change supporters.

If he wins the nomination you could essentially bet on Hillary winning in 2016.

Listen troll,

The fact that he won any states is kind of scary illustrating a large population of nuts exist; nuts who support someone who would essentially use his time as president to enact Christian Sharia law. So much for liberty and freedom....

Yeah, it's amazing that anyone, let alone any state would vote for him

But Santorum is a minor footnote.

the DNC's statement after Trump announced is the sickest burn

Quote :
"Today, Donald Trump became the second major Republican candidate to announce for president in two days. He adds some much-needed seriousness that has previously been lacking from the GOP field, and we look forward hearing more about his ideas for the nation."

Lol

Just calling out the truth.
I'd be interested in Trump's platform. Could be a GOP candidate i would vote for. So far i'd rather vote Hillary than any of the assclowns i've seen so far that have put their name into the nomination hat.

I'd consider Rand too

I'm no poly sci major, but I can't imagine the multitude of candidates is a good thing for the GOP. Seems like a giant waste of campaign money and has the potential to fracture the support base.

I feel like it could be if it means that the primary vote is spread thinly enough that a moderate doesn't have move so far right to pander to the nutjobs (religious and otherwise) that they obliterate their chances in the general.

I saw a clip of Jeb announcing that he was running in front of a pretty big crowd holding up signs and going crazy cheering for the guy. It truly amazes me that there are people in this country excited for Jeb fucking Bush to run for president. Granted I try to avoid political discussions in real life but I am yet to meet anyone who doesn't face palm at the idea of that guy getting the nomination.

I love it when candidates or there press secretaries rile up the base by declaring how they will fix the disastrous presidency of Obama.

You don't have to agree with all of Obama's politics but declaring his terms a disaster is at best a major hyperbole and at worst a huge lie.

Jindal in.

His announcement video looked like it belonged on To Catch a Predator.

My ranking of current GOP members who Whiteacised there names for political gain is Nimrata > Rafael > Piyush

With this many candidates the GOP could easily wind up with one of the nutjobs as their nominee.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if there were a spate of knee-jerk bills at the state and federal levels by Republicans under the banner of "Religious Freedom and Protection!!!1" in order to appease the base.

Ya gotta be kidding me. I can only imagine the racist jokes they were telling each other. Presidential candidate whose slogan is "Defeat Washington" is now getting advice from a known criminal and anti-american insurrectionist.

Why hasn't Cliven Bundy been arrested yet?

donald trump polling 2nd in a lot of big polls. looking forward to another hilarious primary where shitty GOP candidates keep the party from being able to break free and solidify around a single candidate and alienate as many groups as possible

It's hilarious because none of them have denounced his "Mexicans are murderers and rapists" comments, despite ample opportunity. They all want his voters when he inevitably drops out.

This has probably already been mentioned/posted, but I just saw it on the Daily Show last night.

Ted Cruz "auditioning" for the Simpson's. This is some creepy stuff:

I know there's a long way to go, but it seems pretty unfathomable at this point a republican could win the presidency. They haven't had any good news for a while.

I just had to look up who "Everson" was bc I had no clue and I consider myself somewhat informed - Mark Everson, former IRS Commissioner to save everyone else the time.

It's pretty sad Donald Trump is being treated in some arenas like a serious candidate.

Quote :

None of this matters towards that til we get to around say April.
