That was pretty awesome. Gave me warm fuzzies to see that guy slowly reach the realization what an idiot he was and that he was probably going to get arrested.

It's a bit of a shame that he didn't get judo thrown to the pavement, but at least he didn't hurt the biker or the biker's girlfriend.

Yeah, if that motorcyclist had been an off duty cop there's no question that guy would be dead.

Turns out that it is possible to subdue an elderly man without killing him.

Yeah i'm not denying the need for the investigation but given all the recent events you think the last thing a cop would want to do is stir the pot by arbitrarily shooting a black guy in the head because he gave the officer some lip or that he hates black people.

I'm willing to wait to see the video but it seems reasonable that the guy may have been combative. Although if he was merely attempting to flee and the officer was not in harms way then the officer should not have shot to kill.

Let's not forget this guy wasn't exactly a model citizen.

Surely the applications to the police academy include the question "do you hate black people". AM I RITE

You fucking whiny ass pussy liberals bring enjoyment to me everyday on TWW getting your panties in a wod because the people aren't as heart felt as you all.

No wonder poor people of all races continue to struggle when tools like synapse and moron excuse them for uncivil or poor life choices. After all it's the system holding them down and in the case of African Americans it'd the mean white popo picking on them!

Too play devil's advocate has it been considered that sure some popo are racist, maybe others are trigger happy, perhaps some after years of having violent confrontations when dealing with a subset of African Americans belonging in the "thug" category are literally scared when they pull someone in a "pimped"out caddy and looks like a potential gang member. Thus a little on edge at an otherwise routine stop. Only moron would approach a traffic stop involving a soccer mom in her SUV with the same level if ease as a beater rolling on rims with a young African American male dressed in hood attire. I don't like police brutality either but this rawr rawr rawr the cops hate black people is fucking overplayed.

Some of you just sound pathetic.

^ so you are fine living in a police state where cops make instant judgement based on the car, rider, or neighborhood? And you're OK with these cops using that judgement as permission to be aggressive and violent to those people? So proud to be an American that you readily give up your rights to the government?

Yet, Im sure you will bash people who support universal health care or try to increase taxes on the rich for the betterment of society as a whole. Because you only support government authoritarian actions that impact the poor and minorities?

I'm on the reservation, and I can't find HUR. Has anybody on the reservation seen HUR?

I don't think anyone will deny that this guy made a poor choice by trying to flee, or handing the cop a 40 instead of his license. What people are concerned with is that the guy ended up getting shot over it.

Now, the only possible...possible scenario here where a shooting would be justified is that if the guy was really really drunk, and by driving off, potentially endangering the lives of others while behind the wheel, so the cop tried to neutralize a threat. But that is really grasping at straws. If the guy was trying to get away, all that needed to happen was for the cop to grab the license plate and radio to his buddies down the road that this guy is fleeing, and that he needed to be picked up elsewhere.

I think the whole idea of society is that almost no one is a "model citizen" so we have this framework for when one of us messes up, it doesn't end our fragile lives.

Like if a cave man who lived isolated forgot to gather wood, then a storm hits, he's pretty much dead. Why not then live with a group of people, so if he forgets, he can borrow from someone for a bit? That's society...

I actually support liberals in most categories like universal health care, environmental policy, not wasting money fighting foreign wars for oil, pro-choice, a fairer tax system that ensures the rich aren't getting out of their share with loopholes with increases in the short term capital gains taxes.

I just don't lose sleep every night because oh no's sin taxes on cancer sticks (cigarettes) and fat juice (soda) unfairly taxes the poor as this article suggests

http://money.cnn.com/2015/07/23/news/economy/sales-tax-increase/index.html?iid=hp-stack-dom

or share in many hardcore liberals who tend to remove any sense of self-responsibility from poor people who make poor life choice.

Dude, many, many of the "pro-choice crowd" haven't had abortions themselves. In fact, I bet the vast, vast majority haven't. Many just believe that a kid shouldn't be punished for an adult's "poor life choices" (or accidents).

I'm not here in this thread to argue the validity of the pro-choice crowd's stances. I'm just here trying to poke holes in HUR's logic.

You shouldn't, in my mind, support abortions based off of poor life choices, while chiding someone else for dropping out of HS to take a job to support a family.

I'm confused how is being pro-choice mutually exclusive from desiring individuals to taking responsibility and berating the heart-felt crowd who excuses all poor choices made from low income people as somehow being societies fault.

Logically pro-choice should really be a conservative position from an economic perspective....

Not sure how I never noticed this. Here are the officers that are in trouble for Freddy grays murder. I wonder how many in this group hate black people and decided to pick on poor Freddy for being black

http://www.rawstory.com/2015/07/the-video-is-not-good-cincinnati-braces-for-footage-release-in-campus-cop-killing-of-sam-dubose/

So apparently the Dubose guy that we all said probably deserved it because he handed the cop a liquor bottle and tried to run him over, may not have actually deserved it. They haven't released the video, but top officials are saying it's not good for the cop. Looks like the cop lied in this case too.

Come to think of it, I can't think of any of these cop shooting incidents where the video helps the cops out.

Not for Tamir Rice, John Crawford, north Charleston, Sandra Bland, the guy in south Carolina who went to get his license (but lived), the NY choking and a few more. Makes me even more suspicious of the official stories in the Brown/Wilson shooting.

You've brought this up before, and I think everyone agrees with you. There is a general problem with police abuse of power that doesn't stem from racism. That doesn't mean there's also a problem with police abuse of power that does stem from racism. It doesn't have to be one or the other. Everything isn't just black and white.

The answer is simple and quite clear.

Conservatives have long advocated that the best way to stop gun violence or the threat of gun violence is to have an armed republic. Ergo, black people should all get guns and wave them outside as soon as they are pulled over or addressed by the police.

This should let the officer know, hey this individual has a gun, so I shouldn't do anything stupid.
