dtownral implied that it was something I do often. And on purpose. I do not read conservative publications. The closest I get would be Fox News, which is one of several news sites that I read on a regular basis.

I don't actively seek publications that I know to be written with a slant, unless you count fox news. Drudge is an aggregator, not a publication. While most of their links point to places like Breitbart and other right wing websites, I take what I read with a grain of salt.

What is my language btw? I mean you guys keep calling me a partisan hack. But all i can do is shake my head at who I have the potential to vote for this election. It's either going to be Cruz or Trump, either of which would destroy this country.

And I just can't, can't cast a vote for Hillary.

That's gonna be the battle.

Bernie will have a large surge now.

Let's not start sucking each other dicks just yet. Bernie's got a loooong way to go.

He is going to get crushed in S.C. and Nevada, and the other primary's are not looking very promising either. He probably wont win another primary, but maybe he can get the VP nod from Hill.

He currently has a pretty steep hill to climb, not saying he won't win another primary but until we have updated polls to see his post NH bump the current data shows Hildog with a big advantage. This all could flip rather easily with big performances in Nevada and SC but I haven't seen much to indicate that will happen.

^^It's true. 538 is much more reliable than I am. I haven't been able to figure out what American voters want since Obama's re-election.

I guess I should have said "If liberals had any integrity, Sanders would be the Democrat candidate. Should be an easy win for Republicans, even if Trump is the nominee."

No, if he wins the popular vote by a wide margin he'll be the nominee. If it's close it will go to Clinton. The party leadership won't be able to make it totally obvious that they're not interested in what the primary voters have to say, but if it's close they'll push it in the direction they want.

I don't know about that. Our nation seems to be pretty liberal. I don't want Bernie though. He wants to spend way to much money and he is a part of the establishment. We need fresh blood in Washington. I want Trump to win. It would be nice to see someone in there who is a little bit moderate like him. He was friends with the Clinton's and sided with the democrats a while back, but now is running as a republican. Bernie is just too far left and some of the people who are running for the republican nominee come across as being too conservative and religious. The ones who are anti-homosexual rights aren't a good fit in today's society.

^I think the demonizing as you call it is just a tactic to gain votes in the primary. I think Trump will be a little more moderate, if he wins the election. More government programs and spending is not the answer. I like how Trump speaks the truth while everyone else is too worried about offending some minority, or other group. My dad has worked in construction for most of his career. Over time illegal Hispanics have taken over construction which has hurt the American worker. When my parents built their first house in NC the brick work was done by 4 black men. There was another crew of white men who also did brick work for the same builder. Today almost 100% of the brick work is done by Hispanics and plenty of them are illegal. Now the builders don't pay as much as they used to either because of Hispanics undercutting Americans. I have no problem with Trump wanting to close the borders. I also have no problem with Trump wanting to keep people from the middle east out of the US too. What race and religion were all of the terrorist on 9/11? They weren't white and black Americans.

So his years of hounding OBama for his birth certificate his lies that he had "secret evidence it wasn't real" was not genuine racism on his part, but ... what? He has never even admitted he was wrong or lied, when Colbert tried to call him out, he just said "i don't want to answer".

Trump is the least honest of all the presidential candidates. he knows he can't build a wall-- yet this is his biggest talking point, he can't stop muslims from coming here, yet he is okay with using these issues to rile people up. He's okay with his "passionate supporters" beating an immigrant in Boston.

It seems pretty naive and dangerous to think that trump is just joking with his racist rhetoric, when this rhetoric is already causing harm.

Quote :

So because the builders and business owners and your dad are the ones hiring the hispanics, the hispanics are the bad guys? It's okay to call them murderers and rapists and stoke anger against hispanics, when the real problem is actually with the business owners?

If Trump had any real balls, and wasn't just trying to get the vote of dumb racists, he would call for any business owner caught hiring an illegal to be arrested. If any politician did this, the illegal problem would solve itself real quick, wouldn't it? (but this means trump would have to be arrested-- so he'll put the blame on other people. Typical politician, thinks he's above the law)

Outside of the immigration problem, Trump has no real answers. He's not going to go after big business that is pushing for inequality, because he IS big business. It would be a literal cause of hiring a fox to guard the hen house.

Bernie has a career of fighting for the middle class and equal rights. He's been doing it for decades. He was organizing civil rights protests in college, he was pro LGBT before I was even born (and I wasn't pro LGBT until 2006ish).

bernie's ideas of what he can do as president are just as unhinged as trump is...he's just not overtly racist and xenophobic on top of it. he uses the same language trump uses - empty platitudes and promises of shit that will never happen. and now he's shitting on obama? like this guy is going to magically get congress to work. he has some magic "leadership" to bring to the table? why the fuck couldn't he use that leadership when he was actually in congress? and he keeps talking about some massive revolution of new people in the process? like this guy is going to get more engagement in politics than the massive wave obama had in 2008.

fuck bernie

^ magic is the right word. His campaign is filled with 'magical thinking' and not a whole lot of substance. America isn't ready for socialism yet. The countries in Europe that are socialist leaning didn't become that way overnight, and that's pretty much what he's suggesting- that Americans will somehow vote out all the members of congress and vote in people who will agree with his policies and everything will just 'happen'. In theory, I happen to agree with a lot of his ideas, but I can't stand the idea of having him as President. He'll be less effective than Jimmy Carter and ruin all the progress the Democrats have had over the past two terms.

^, ^^

It's not magical thinking to have medicare for all or college tuition covered for certain institutions for people who make the grade... other countries already do these things. Even the top marginal tax rate Bernie is calling for (actually higher than what Bernie wants) has been tried in America during the time when Microsoft, Apple, and many other great American corporations emerged.

It IS magical thinking to think building a wall along the entire border is going to do anything meaningful for jobs, or banning muslims will somehow stop isis (it will only embolden them), or that proudly proclaiming US is a country that uses torture "and more" will make people think we're great.

it's magical thinking to think he can make it happen in a congress that is, thanks to criminal gerrymandering, set up to be republican for the forseeable future.

i don't give a shit what other countries can do. it's a question of what he can do in this goddamn country

and he doesn't have anything more than unicorn farts and rainbows when it comes to how it's going to happen

i mean for fucks sake, congress won't even have a goddamn hearing on the 2017 budget because of partisan bullshit. but sure, this guy is gonna change all of that.

global warming deniers and creationists deny hard facts

kinda like denying the hard fact that a president can't enact socialized health care or free public education without having his party completely on board AND having the party be in control of congress

truth is, it's the berniebros who are the deniers. they get told that the democrats could win every tossup seat in the house and still not have a majority and say "but leadership and revolution will fix all that"
