Are you really going to take that at face value? It's possible, but there are a multitude of possible reasons why they met and why it was leaked to press.

You're really burying your head in the sand if you think she didn't send classified information knowingly.

The classified part is only the tip of the iceberg though. There's also the FOIA avoidance, quid pro quo appointments, aides employed at the state department/teneo/Clinton foundation at the same time, foreign donations while she was Secretary. It goes on and on and it's probably why the case is taking so long. It keeps expanding.

Does anyone even like Clinton anymore, other than goalielax? I know y'all are scared of Trump, but there is another option. Demand she step down before the convention. It's a huge mistake to nominate her given the investigation(s) and the fact that she is viewed nearly as unfavorably as Trump, and dropping.

What a fucking mess.

the AG made a public statement that she will go along with FBI's recommendation, this is a development because she isn't required to go along with the FBI's recommendation

UNC didn't lie about having classified information (up to TS) on a completely unsecure server that more than likely was hacked numerous times by foreign governments

I think it's dumb how Clinton has handled this, but I don't think there's a more nefarious motivation other than she really values her personal privacy, due the whole Lewinksky thing.

lol, they aren't even charging one of the aides? guccifer must have kept quiet

the funny thing is that they aren't recommending no charges because there is no evidence of statute violations (there is), but because they don't think a prosecutor would bring charges

According to Comey, there were 100+ emails with classified info and 2000+ retroactively classified. And he believes her server was hacked, although they couldn't find hard evidence.

Its like any other case federal prosecutors investigate. If there's a slim to none chance of actually winning a conviction, they don't bother wasting taxpayer money on it.

pretty clear that the AG definitely knew their recommendation when she made her pledge to follow their recommendation, timing of her save-face statement was too close

Let's not forget that this whole thing is because NSA IT was too lazy to setup the State Department with the same mobile email system they provided to Obama. Left to their own devices, it became a bit of a shit show.

Quote :
""We began examining options for (Secretary Clinton) with respect to secure 'BlackBerry-like' communications," wrote Donald R. Reid, the department's assistant director for security infrastructure. "The current state of the art is not too user friendly, has no infrastructure at State, and is very expensive."

Reid wrote that each time they asked the NSA what solution they had worked up to provide a mobile device to Obama, "we were politely told to shut up and color.""

fbi:

Quote :
"+ 110 emails in 52 email chains that contained classified information at the time that they were sent

+ 8 chains of emails that contained information which was considered “Top Secret”

+ 36 email chains that held information considered “secret”

+ 8 other email chains that held “confidential” information

The investigation also uncovered about 2,000 emails which were related to Clinton’s work as Secretary of State but they had been deleted earlier and not turned over to the State Department by Clinton."

other people have been prosecuted for less in the past. so its just more evidence the system is rigged and more good reasons to not vote for her are my 2 takeaways from this email deal

^Nope, Comey specifically said that was not case.

Quote :
"In looking back at our investigations into mishandling or removal of classified information, we cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts. All the cases prosecuted involved some combination of: clearly intentional and willful mishandling of classified information; or vast quantities of materials exposed in such a way as to support an inference of intentional misconduct; or indications of disloyalty to the United States; or efforts to obstruct justice. We do not see those things here."

Honestly, if I'm a Clinton supporter I'm not arguing on her behalf here. She clearly used horrendous judgment multiple times. Doubling down on her stupidity is exactly what a buffoon like Trump does when he fucks up. Own it, take your licks and move on.

No vindication had for either side with this mess.

So my only question is, when viewed side by side with Petraeus, how come he got punished and she didn't?

That's all I'm going to say anymore about the Clinton email fiasco.

Sandy Berger would be a better comparison than Patraeus (probation and fine, loss of security clearance)

or maybe Hillary Clinton and the whitewater document she lost (nothing)
