I think I heard earlier that Mozgov played 15 total minutes in the finals and is getting paid 16 mil a year. hahaha, terrible

It's still 2 million a year less than Noah. I wonder who will play more minutes.

Big Al signs 3/30 million in Indy.

Savvy negotiating by the big market teams.

Mozgov and noah deals are sooooo bad

Knicks undid all the good from the rose trade. Now they suck hard. The whole point was to get rid of Lopez to move porzingis to center. Phil jackson just has no clue.

Bad deal for all jefferson. Bad deal for clarkson.

Jeremy lin gonna struggle in Brooklyn that team is terrible

In fairness, he didn't play in the finals because of matchups and the cleveland lineup. He is still a solid center at both ends and he will contribute to the Lakers. I'd bet the contract doesn't look so bad up against some of the other contracts that will come when teams still have money to spend and all the good players are gone.

Lin deal isn't too bad. He gets to play A LOT and have some security with a multi-year contract. Nets don't really overpay and Lin should be a draw to sell tickets. But yeah that team will be terrible for a while.

^^ Mozgov still struggled this year when he played in the regular season. He regressed from last year's Finals performance (which was pretty fucking solid).

I'm guessing the Lakers will hope he can regain (and improve upon) that type of play.

I'm not so sure about that. He was terrible as a starter and that's why we got him for pennies last offseason. Then he beats up on 2nd units as our primary scorer with that group, and gets 2m/year more than Kemba.

So yeah, perspective I guess.

Lin definitely is gonna struggle for a very long time in Brooklyn, NY. Actually his contract makes not much sense except that it's a big contract, much bigger than last yr. But beyond that, I doubt he will make a big impact there. Nets is under rebuilding I think.
He seems enjoying the career as a journey man in this league and tries to help every team he goes to be better.

The Delladova deal is insane. But the league is making money. It reminds me of Tiger Woods. Even though he was kicking everyone's ass at one point, Golf was making so much money it was making mediocre golfers making a killing at the bank.

The contracts only look insane by comparison. They're all going to look like that next year. The $ amounts don't really matter, think of them in terms of cap %.

The years are what you have to look at. Conley looks way overpaid now, but once Westbrook, Wall, Curry, etc. sign new deals soon it'll look totally in line with what he's worth.

There is no way delly is worth almost $10 million a year. Unless the new minimum salary is that.

He's a competent backup PG. He can give you 10-12 minutes a game, right now that might be worth 9 million per. If he was getting paid 5 million a year nobody would bat an eye. 10 million is the new 5 million. There are some teams that may have problems reaching the salary floor if they don't sign people.

I'm not going to go to bat for all these guys, but people are freaking the fuck out about the size of these contracts without realizing that the cap has jumped 30% and it's going to be more next season. Going from 70 million cap to 94 in a year is crazy. Next year is projected around 108-110. The years are more valuable than the $ amounts right now because it will ulitmately save you money on the cap assuming the guy can play the full length of the contract.

Derozen making 5/139 looks insane, but he's a quality young guy and you just locked him up for 5 more years. In 5 years the cap may be 150 million, which makes a guy like Derozen a bargain at 28 million a year.

They need to get rid of max salaries. If a team wants to pay one player half their cap, let them.

^^ you know he's on a 1+1 and just declined his player option, right? He's going to sign a one year deal and them a 5 year/200+ max deal.

The max salary is based on percent of cap, years with a team and years of service. LeBron will probably be the leagues highest paid player when he signs a new longterm deal with the Cavs after next season.

Theres no point in watching a single game next year. I guess you could track their road to 74 and tune in to see if lebron can challenge during the finals but the rest of the league is even more irrelevant now. Its disgusting to me and i dont get how its successful.

This is all Lebron's fault. That dude competently changed the scope of the league

He is the Martin Luther of the NBA. Started the reformation. And Im loving every second of this.

It's hilarious now that the league (David stern) stop that trade of Chris Paul to the Lakers.

I wouldn't go too nuts on the Durant thing, I mean Steph Curry doesn't even pass that much, seems like you would need a point guard more like paul to guarantee that it will work, it will def be interesting though

Idiot move by the Warriors, unless they plan on getting lil B to lift the curse.

Idk, a CP3 and Draymond combo would be pretty formidable when it comes to hitting people in the nuts.

I can't believe Durant did it. He just left a pile of money on the table and is probably the most hated player in the league now.

It's going to be interesting to see how they manage shots and egos on that team. Klay is pretty mellow but I wonder how he's going to take to being the 3rd option. How is Draymond going to handle being relegated to just playing defense. They also still need to address the glaring hole in their roster with Bogut being basically done, they don't have a real rim protector and Draymond can't play 40 minutes a game at center. I think Ezeli is gone too.

They're the prohibitive favorites no doubt, but it's going to take a little while to figure things out.

^nah, not having anything to replace him with is what hurts, not so much losing him. He's broken down and finished anyway.

It's a pretty incredible team. They've got a big hole at center though. I'm sure they'll sign some low cost guys. David West could land there, they could resign Varejao, etc.

Lineup structure and minutes management are going to be difficult to work through. I bet they start the season about 12-8 through 20 while they try to work out chemistry.

Also going to be fun to see what other teams do now. Spurs, Cavs, Clips all have some decisions to make now.
