Such a brave move to say whatever is politically correct at the time.

The NBA is hypocritical though, they segregate the game by gender. What if NBA players want to identify as women for a season? Those bigots like Adam Silver discriminate against them. If LeBron wants to put on a wig and dunk on some lesbians, that's just him being him. Such discrimination is unacceptable. Shame on the NBA

I wonder how much McCrory had to do with getting the 1991 AS Game when he was a lowly member of the city council, since he's now basically the reason we lost the game.

was McCrory Mayor in 2002 when the city voted against a new stadium and we lost the Hornets the first time?

I love how the media acts like this law has anything to do with lgbt. It's a ducking intrastate commerce law that has wide ramifications on business dealings within the state.

The anti lgbt aspect of it is unfortunate but it's just minutiae compared to the importance of the bill

Tell them to get to work on passing new legislature because hb2 is too important to revoke

moving the ASG won't mean shit. it's not like the folks who supported HB2 are gonna say "oh man they moved the nba asg, we should rethink this". it's just a publicity stunt by adam silver who's bolstering his look as "a man of the people". really sucks that charlotte (a liberal city) gets affected for no good reason.

wasn't it a pro-transgender action by charlotte that turned heads in raleigh to the drafting of hb2 into motion?

did the clippers end up trading blake? if so, that's their death sentence. this is their last year to make some noise in the playoffs.

blake griffin is one of the most overrated players in the NBA.

Griffin is like Carmelo in the sense that he's a star and highly skilled in certain areas, but ultimately is a cancer on a team due to his weaknesses.

eh. blake griffin is really good at dunking. and not really good at anything else despite being a great athlete and playing with a top PG. melo is a very gifted offensive player, but gives few shits about defense. also he is pudgy.

melo is a star because he can take over a game. blake is a star because OMG DUNKS ARE COOL

Blake had that playoff series a few years back when Paul hurt his vagina or whatever and he basically played like LeBron controlling the offense. He has it in him, but it's like he defers to Paul instead of just using his dominant physical skills to overpower defenses. Him getting away from Cockpuncher 3 might be very beneficial to his career.

Blake is arguably the best passing big man in the league and he's onever of the best midrange shooters too.

The problem is he's a modern day center becuase he can't shoot 3s but he doesn't defend the rim well enough to be a center.

He needs to be paired with someone like porzingis or ibaka who can defend the rim and shoot from the perimeter.

He's a great roll man in the pick and roll but that's they only way to utilize DeAndre jordan since he can't shoot either.

So basically griffin is still a pretty great player hes just not in an optimal situation. You need 4 shooters on the floor in the nba now to run an efficient enough offense to compete

Yeah that's not him. I couldn't remember what he looked like in the picture and I was reading 7 seconds or less the other day and it reminded me of that mystery state guy.

Kinda crazy none of us know who that is... he had to be pre 1998 but man I feel like I'd know anyone from the 90s if they'd played at all.

I tweeted Joe Giglio from the N@O (state beat writer for years) and he didn't know who it was either. Maybe it's just a random coach with a State shirt.

not quite. they said they won't TRY to win 74. They may very well score 120+ a game and do it without trying, although I doubt it.

Fucking aye right, time for some NBA.

I wonder if Lebron is going to play about 32 min/game. He'll probably go about 42 tonight, but I don't see any reason for him not to dial it back this season. Irving is going to be the leading scorer for Cleveland this year.

Great, great opening game. Kristaps in prime time is going to be amazing.

Well, Lebron brought it tonight. Open the season with a ring, a banner, and a triple double, very nice. Love is having a nice game too. It definitely looks like Lebron is going to do a lot of facilitating this year.

Well, looks like Kawhi is ready for it to be his team.

I'm pretty sure the dubs are going to be amazing but it's going to take them a bit to figure out their chemistry and get some continuity. Opening against Spurs was about the hardest thing they could have done.

Kawhi on Klay was great move since he shut his ass down and rendered him pretty much useless. Iggy got flat out exposed when he was on him. Overall, it was a really bad look and the Ws should be very concerned with defense and their rotations. It's pretty obvious how important Bogut was to the team and now that he's gone, I'm not sure what they're going to do to protect the rim. Zaza is serviceable, but why Varajao is still on the team is mind boggling. It's only one game and there's more than enough talent, but they need to figure something out pretty quickly.
