i think the real story regarding the travel ban is including green cards against advice and DHS and border patrol not complying with court orders. think trump is testing his authority to see how much he can get away with. he changed his security council, cleaned house at the state department, and now he is seeing how much he can have DHS do without other branches stopping him. i think this was just a test.

Yeah, there were certainly some parts of the EO that were horseshit. Legal permanent residents shouldn't have had to put up with anything more than some additional scrutiny at customs at most.

As poorly designed and executed as it was, it's almost certainly legal and will hold up court. The President has broad powers with regards to immigration and border control.
