Russia knows they can't win a war with the US, so why do people think they are eager to start one?

Nikki Haley tapped for UN Ambassador.

I'm not really mad at that choice.

I thought he decided he wasn't going to get involved with Trump's staff, citing his inexperience in government. Guess he' brushed up over the past week.

Trump saw the word "Urban" in HUD, and immediately thought of Carson.

He even had another black guy with experience in the area. Bob Woodson.

At least Carson is from Detroit I guess??

How many billionaires do yall think will be in the White House in January?

2 so far with Trump and Devos. Peter Thiel is likely.

I'm gonna say 5.

[Edited on November 23, 2016 at 2:18 PM. Reason : Holy fuck Vince/Linda McMahon are billionaires??]

This is probably 100% accurate. I was actually puzzled why Carson would be on deck for that spot, but this makes perfect sense.

Exactly. She's qualified for the job, but it's not that important of a position. Seems like tokenism so trump can say "see, i picked a minority/woman for something!!".

Doesn't change the fact he has a literal white supremacist as his top advisor. Or has other picks that would not be against a registry or internment.

Devos for education secretary is more concerning, she's a crank that hates public education, I can see her actively undermining the institution rather than working to make it better.

Serious question, in your expert opinion, what is an acceptable level of income for these potential cabinet members?

I just think it's funny.

But in my personal opinion, that amount of wealth is not acceptable for anyone, let alone a "public servant."

I'll take a stab at this

I don't there is inherently anything wrong with a billionaire in the Cabinet, however, I think there are some positions that it certainly gives the wrong impression. Take Secretary of Energy for instance, if you told me a billionaire held this position, I'm instantly going to think it's some oil CEO is just going to fuck over the environment. With SecDef, I'm going to assume they're just huge supporters of the military industrial complex which will only increase wasteful military spending (Looking at you KC-X and F-35 programs).

If the Cabinet is just full of billionaires, it really gives more to the 'there is a ruling class and they have no idea what the average American goes through' vibe to it. So while there isn't anything wrong with them being in high level government positions, I would certainly want to take a closer look at their finances to see how they became a billionaire. Someone like Gates as SecEducation or Musk as SecEnergy...fuck yeah, someone like the CEO of BP as SecEnergy...no thanks

I think it's funny how everyone was up in arms about Hillary being in bed with the banks and now they're making excuses left and right for Trump's billionaire cronies being in positions of extreme power.

America is fucked proper right now.

billionaires are less likely to be bought by lobbyists and banks.

as for education, there is nothing to lose. who cares if its the end to our failing public education system. the worst case scenario is that things dont get better. they cant really get any worse. shake things up

Education was dog shit if you were a college/grad student between 2009-2012ish or so.

Have you ever heard the term 'furlough'?

^^^ My suspicion is that they won't care. It was never about the classified documents. It was about the perceived preferential treatment she received. It all fed into the crooked/corrupt narrative.

Maybe but it was always more about the frothing at the mouth at getting a Clinton.

I get the idea a lot of those types would have been happier to see her charged than Trump win the election.

Also, Wilbur Ross.

Fairly obvious that his campaigning was empty promises. Not saying Clinton would've done any different but she didn't campaign on it like he did..

Our government should only be made up of people with a moderate to low level of financial success. Which is why Obama's cabinet was composed of WalMart greeters.
