After a full year of nothing, the Christmas Special kicked off Series 10 with a bit of good and a bit of bad.

The superhero thing was lame and should have been skipped, but I did enjoy the Doctor handling the monsters. I thought having Nardole back would be annoying but he was fun.

I'd actually say it was one of the better episodes with the new Doctor...which is a bit sad. Still not a great Christmas episode.

Though it was good to see Justin Chatwin is still getting work.

I enjoy this doctor much more than Matt Smith, I know this is not popular opinion (although my all time fav dr who episode is one with Smith, very conflicting)

I think my problem is I always compare them to Tennant and that's such an unfair thing to do.

Matt Smith took some getting use to but I eventually appreciated the quirky nature he brought to the character.

I'm hoping Capaldi will continue to grow into the role and have some solid episodes to help, but my expectations seem to keep going down a little each episode.

I love Capaldi. His sarcasm lines up pretty well with mine, so I end up laughing more with him than I did with the previous Doctors. I just don't think his style goes well with children like Matt Smith did, so this episode had a weird start with a kid interaction.

Tennent is my favorite Doctor, but Series 6 was my favorite season (Matt Smith vs the Silence).

The best Capaldi episodes thus far, in my opinion, have been Listen, Heaven Sent, Mummy on the Orient Express, Time Heist, and the Under the Lake/Before the Flood 2-parter.

I'm a little bored with the Harmony Shoal aliens. If they continue with that villain, I hope they amp up the story a bit.

I just rewatched all the episodes where River Song appears. I know we aren't supposed to, but I hope we see her again soon!

I also watched that over the break. I was all at the end. That is one of my absolute favorite eps, along with The Day of the Doctor.

^^ What they don't tell you is that he's crying because they kept saying his name wrong

srsly, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who didn't like the super-hero Christmas Special. It just felt... lame. I'll agree with butt mustard that I expected Nardole to be way more annoying; I'm glad they toned his shit down.

Goodbye Capaldi. Hoping I enjoy the rest of your episodes but will be interesting to see what happens.

I wonder if they'll finally go with a female or minority Doctor to switch it up?

I'm actually really excited about the possibility of Tilda Swinton now that I think of it ... please let it be Tilda Swinton

Of that list, Tilda is the only one I want to see. I honestly haven't watch too much of the Capaldi series, I like him as the Doctor, but the writing continues to be abysmal.

I could go with any of those, but the ladies are my top choices. #teamtilda

I'm just excited for the change in showrunner. Davies restored the show to glory, then the story became dry. Moffat revamped the storytelling, but then it became over the top and ridiculous, continuously trying to outdo himself. Looking forward to seeing what Chris Chibnall can do.

I don't like the new companion at all so far. Amy had a character arc which started with her very first episode, and Clara was a great counter to the Doctor's wit, but this one has added nothing so far.

The Pilot was bland, and the only interesting character (the girl with the gold eye) was only herself for maybe 3 minutes of screen time.

Smile was dumb all around. It was "The Girl Who Waited" (where the medical robots killed everyone) but with emojis.

Both John Simm and Michelle Gomez are supposed to show up as the Master this season, I'm very much looking forward to it and will sit through 10 episodes of crap to get to it if I have to.
