The circus is gay...and old, it's not 1917. In any case, clowns are retarded and scary.

About time the exploitation of animals ended.
Why can't they have a circus without animals anyway? 1/17/2017 12:29:43 AM |

Because back when the circus started, you didn't have these things called smartphones where you could google image search an elephant. The circus was one of the few ways people could go see some exotic animals. It then became tradition to have the animals. 1/17/2017 1:07:38 AM |

now that you say that, I'm realizing that I never saw an image of an elephant until I was able to search for one via Google images 1/17/2017 1:10:42 AM |

Whilst I haven't been to the circus in ages, it is weird to think that I won't have the opportunity to take my own kids to one. 1/17/2017 9:57:57 AM |

I used to go to the circus every year as a kid and thought it was great.
Then I got to middle school and stopped going.
I went back when I was in college, and it was just depressing. The animals seemed so sad
I vowed to never go to one with animals again. 1/17/2017 11:35:59 AM |

There are these things called books, and books with realistic animals drawings have existed for over a 1,000 years, and with actual pictures for well over a 100 years.
I understand what you are saying, but I am certain that those who started the circuses did not have bringing science to the masses as one of their reasons. In the end, it is all about exploiting others for corporate greed. Used to be humans who were exploited -- 100s of millions still are around the world in every country -- but that has declined significantly. Wild animals, however, are still being massively exploited for human greed.

That's not the same thing. While in principle, I disagree with zoos as well, if a zoo has habitats as close to nature as possible for their animals, I am less inclined to oppose them. Are animals in zoos asked to act like humans and perform human tasks? Are the animals in zoos completely broken down psychologically before being exhibited, as they are in circuses and aquariums? If so, then yes, shut them down.1/17/2017 2:44:25 PM |

LMAO, shut that argument down right there. Before there were smartphones there were books...in any case how many kids/teens look at animals on their smartphones? They're doing gay shit like Twitter and Facebook.1/17/2017 11:34:29 PM |

went tonight. two big takeaways:
1) the tigers looked absolutely miserable and one of them nearly struck the dude taming them
and
2) it's easy to see why they're going bankrupt. their production costs must be insane. easy to see them rebranding in the future as a "back to basics" circus
damn good time, though 2/9/2017 9:46:18 PM |
