I’m not invested in a desired outcome, we basically have the outcome already.

It’s tiring that even with the outcome there’s still struggling over it. Why can’t anything just be normal anymore...

^^to be fair this is normal. Just hasn't happened at this level in a while.

This whole thing needs to be declassified and released. Protecting information and sources is fine in normal circumstances but not with respect to allegations this serious directed at people this high in power. They should make arrangements to secure the safety of anyone at risk, release it and begin cultivating new sources.

The fact that our President can't even tell the truth regarding where his father was born eliminates the right to all benefit of the doubt

Curious what Barr actually makes available. He's pretty obviously trying to bait Democrats into starting impeachment proceedings.

^^ It's the subtext to some of Barr's see-you-in-court rhetoric around Congress getting the unredacted Mueller report. I also think Trump wants the House wants to begin impeachment.

Every minute that goes by is going to be Barr:

-fabricating a public defense/PR offensive with the Whitehouse
-laying stumbling blocks for possible future prosecutions
-creating more investigations (of FISA handling, etc) which will only increase the redactions (ongoing investigation)
-every minute of delay increases the time till we actually get the report since its probably gonna end up as a court fight.

It took close to 6 years before Iran-Contra investigations were finally buried (from initial investigation to the last pardon). We need to start this process NOW.

[Edited on April 10, 2019 at 7:42 AM. Reason : IF the tables were flipped, The GOP would have subpoenaed this the day Mueller sent it to the AG]

Note that Barr refuses to answer if or whom at the whitehouse he has briefed on the report. This question has absolutely nothing to do with the content of the report, is not classified or sensitive in any way, and he has no basis not to answer that question except he just doesn't want to.

He's simply refusing to comply with Congressional Oversight simply because he thinks his answer will damage his position.

Subpoena Barr and all his communications with the Whitehouse, subpoena the report, subpoena Mueller. DO IT YESTERDAY!!!

It’s kind of amazing they’re announcing an investigation of the investigation before they even release the results. This process couldn’t have been more partisan unless Barr torched every copy of the report.

I'm trying very hard to be reasonable regarding Barr, but this nonsense about him randomly sputtering shit like "the campaign was spied on but I have no evidence" is making that very difficult. The fuck is this guy doing?

William Barr told The New York Times in 2017 that he saw more basis in investigating Hillary Clinton's involvement with Uranium One than investigating collusion between Donald Trump and Russia.

Lengthy Mueller investigation coming to an end about a month after the new ag Barr was confirmed. The optics make it look like obstruction. Sessions won't end the Mueller investigation, put in someone that will/did.

A month between the delivery of the report and its partial release? The optics make it look like it took them that long to find clever ways to redact, edit, or bury the parts of the report that are incriminating to them.

And of course the man at the top's "truth" is based entirely on what he's feeling in that exact moment, not anything resembling reality. His entire administration can't be trusted.

So yeah, not surprised that people believe in a coverup. Hell, that seems to be the #1 job of the senate majority these days. Coverup or look the other way.

Can someone bring me up to speed there plz?

Not at this time from what I’ve seen. The house judiciary committee voted to authorize a subpoena for the full report, but that hasn’t progressed very far yet. Apparently there will be a less redacted report that will be made available to a “limited number of members of Congress” although I’m not clear on exactly who that would be

ryan j. reilly: is there any impropriety for you to come out spinning the report before the public has a chance to read it
rosenstein: smirks and looks at barr
barr: panicked pause ... no

... and press conference immediately shut down

______________________________________

when barr said that he and rosenstein "disagreed with some of the Special Counsel's legal theories and felt that some of the episodes examined did not amount to obstruction as a matter of law" that totally means mueller said there was obstruction

The definition of conspiracy is incredibly narrow. Rightfully so from a legal standpoint.

“No collusion” is obviously a lie given the little I’ve read of the report but no illegal conspiracy seems pretty cut and dry given the narrow definition.

There seems to be extremely damning statements indicating obstruction of justice. Mueller is saying the investigation was materially damaged by lies to congress and destroyed evidence.

Mueller demonstrated trump took a truthful statement by Don Jr regarding the trump tower meeting and turned it into a lie.

then it talks about how Corsi asked to be put in touch with Assange and Malloch said people around Nigel Farage could contact him, but with a shit load of redactions. Someone made contact with Assange and was told that hacked emails of Podesta would be released prior to election day that would be helpful to the trump campaign.

Quote :

Wikileaks send Trump Jr. the password for a website that was about to launch that was about Trump's connections to Russia, PutinTrump.org.

Trump Jr. said he tried the password and it worked, then he emailed senior campaign staff to ask about the group.

this is small potatoes in context, but imagine chelsea clinton doing the same - the media would have "CHELSEA CLINTON HACKED ANTI-CLINTON WEBSITE" stories for days
