China fucked up. Good video, showing how China lied to its people and silenced whistleblowers in December and January, thus allowing the virus to spread far and wide, when they could have easily controlled the situation far earlier had they acted when the first reports/statements came out in mid December by concerned doctors.

While they mandated face masks in a military institute in Wuhan at least a week before they went public about the virus to the world according to leaked internal documents, they denied a request to cancel a public banquet celebrating CNY in Wuhan just a couple of days before going public, a banquet which was attended by 40,000 families, which must have spread the virus a lot. Then they let 3-4 million Wuhan-ites leave Wuhan by train for other Chinese cities for CNY before locking the city down, which must have spread the virus to rest of China.

The government let tens of thousands get sick through willful, insidious negligence. They brought this upon themselves.

^^^^I spent much of the day orchestrating how we can hold classes when students and course directors are all at home if campus closes via Zoom.

My team will be very busy if we close. We will be babysitting all the classes remotely. So we will have a standing Zoom which everybody will join when they start their shift and provide remote support and management of classes and upload recordings from the cloud to our recording system.

I think it will be a lot of work, but could be fun. I like the idea of being able to sip on a beer or something stronger while working in my pajamas and being able to telecommute. With the nature of my job my department cannot telecommute.
