Wtf are you even talking about

Yes Mahomes might be the GOAT when it’s all said and done. Saying he’s better than Lamar isn’t really a bold statement. You’ve got a few too many greater than signs there though.

Lamar >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Purdy. Thats probably a more accurate number of greater than signs.

it’s an opinion that he’d never had until last night/this morning

it’s nonsense

he’s also going to tie it to a post I made about Oscar nominations, which is even dumber

Not well, but there's still time to earn a 9/10 seed and participate in the play-in tournament! That double OT game against the Lakers the other night hurt my heart, but holy shit Lebron is incredible...due to age.

Steph should only have 1 MVP since he didn't win the championship in 2016.

I didn’t mock anyone’s religious beliefs

CMC is a religious guy. he didn’t feel the need to proselytize after the game.

Pretty sure most athletes give their thanks to God after a victory, so not sure why you needed to single out Mr. Suddenly Relevant again. I honestly don't get the hate against him at all. Yeah, he had a terrible game versus Baltimore on Xmas, but he's a pretty likable guy if you like underdog stories.

Anyway, I have a Super Bowl party to plan, but this has been a delightful start to my week.

I can’t speak for others. But for myself, I don’t dislike Purdy. I find it silly when people talk about him like he’s one of the elite QBs in the league. But I don’t have any problem with him.

that’s it

it’s all the capes that come out for him, especially from dudes like UJW who don’t really know what they’re talking about

the “debate” over him v. Lamar for MVP is what did it for me

a part of it also comes from the rush to anoint Shanahan qb’s i.e. Jimmy G

Purdy made some big plays in the 2nd half last night. Though Dan Campbell's super aggressive playcalling didn't do the Lions any favors.

Purdy did make some big plays. He deserves credit.

The Lions fell apart. Dropped balls. Fumble. They melted down. I don’t hate Campbell going for it, that aggressive nature is what got them that far. And he rode it. But it’s still fair to question it. And before UJW accuses me of saying Detroit blew it and SF got lucky, let me say that obviously SF made the plays they needed to. Detroit left the door open and SF snatched that game.

TGL can answer for himself but saying that they aren’t built to come from behind isn’t exactly the same as saying it’s impossible for them to come from behind.

Yes, that's what good teams who play in the Super Bowl do. And FWIW, if the Lions had won, I would have been cheering for them over KC, because I'm an actual fan of the game. And if the 9ers lose again to KC, Mahomes really deserves to be in a legitimate conversation with the likes of Brady and Montana, even though he arguably does already. Lamar, unfortunately doesn't.

it’s common knowledge about the 49ers. Greg Olsen mentioned them not being built to come back from a big deficit during the broadcast

until last week, the 49ers under Shanahan were 0-30 when going into the 4th quarter trailing 5 or more points

https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/kyle-shanahan-fourth-quarter-record-49ers-coach/fa9b549002cf887a6015b98d

this is something that’s common knowledge for people who regularly

To be clear, I’m not shitting on the Niners. Im not questioning whether or not they deserve to be there. I’m giving them credit. Who are you arguing with? The Niners have been one of the best teams in the nfl all year. Now they’re in the Super Bowl.

Quote :
"And FWIW, if the Lions had won, I would have been cheering for them over KC, because I'm an actual fan of the game. "

wtf does this sentence mean? People who cheer for KC aren’t fans of the game? Idk what you’re talking about

Quote :

He definitely already is in that conversation. Win or lose he’s an all time great already.

Quote :
"Lamar, unfortunately doesn't."

Who are you arguing with? Lamar is a great player. Nobody is calling him one of the best QBs ever at this point. He’s one of the best QBs in the league now. One of the best of his era. But I think that’s kinda as far as anybody I’ve seen is going. If anything people have tended to be too harsh on Lamar throughout his career.

Oh, you mean the first and only unanimous MVP any player NBA has ever won? The year the Warriors beat the Bulls record for regular season wins? The year the series went to 7 games and Draymond's stupid antics gifted the series back to the Cavs?

Yeah, well the problem with this analogy is that the Warriors actually made it to the Finals that year. Lamar has never won an AFC championship, so zero Super Bowl appearances.

In case it wasn't super obvious, but I was just trolling TGL for spouting off nonsense and being the resident Sports Talk know-it-all. He CLEARLY spends way more time online doing research and being a super expert at everything sports related, but when he makes a dumb statement he will NEVER admit it or say he was wrong. I married a former Soviet so I'm used to dealing with it, but I do feel sorry for him that despite knowing soooooo much more about sports than I ever will, none of his teams ever compete for titles.

I hope that answers your questions, Justin.

Yeah it answers my question with some bullshit about how a player who couldn't win the championship could be deserving of MVP.

Zay Flowers handed the chieves another super bowl appearance.

I was absolutely trolling him. The end of Page IIT 6 was quite a bit of shit talking about the 9ers/Purdy, so I was merely calling him out, but yet again, instead of just saying, "whoops, I was wrong-- Purdy had a great second half and helped lead the comeback" he's sitting here saying "welllll ackshually, it's common knowledge that the 9ers can't win when playing from behind."

I get it guys, y'all are butt hurt it's a KC/SF rematch instead of the Ravens/Lions-- the game seemingly the rest of America wanted.

His numbers in that "season" ...

67.4% comp, 4802 yards, 39 TD to 7 INT

.23 EPA/dropback

It's pretty much in line with his 2022 MVP numbers. Against the best teams, on the biggest stage, over 6 years."

Imagine taking pride in being an enormous dork that gets off on bragging about being "more knowledgable" than some random internet stranger who's just happy to watch his teams win/compete for championships.

As if that's not bad enough, imagine never being able to admit you were ever wrong about anything, ever, despite actually being wrong.

Nope, not a bit either. It's just who TGL is. Kayne West super fan extraordinaire.

I mean I guess Tom Brady has more "common knowledge" than Greg Olsen, but maybe I'm wrong? Purely a coincidence, but I had to laugh when I saw this:
