LeWoke can thank Hunter Biden for that rigged trophy. I miss the NBA when you couldn't go into the paint without ending up in the hospital, or worse.

Draymond's right arm is spasming pretty bad these days. Might need some magnesium.

I really feel like last nights foul is not a good example to make an example of Draymond with a long suspension

On one hand, they should have made an example out of him after he choked Gobert. On the other, this wasn't as bad as that, but this was pretty egregious as well and his multiple offenses make it easy to hand down a long suspension.

Lol they really copped it by suspending him indefinitely instead of for a significant, and definite, amount of time

LMAO the fight over the game ball was hilarious. Pacers really wanted to give the game ball to a guy who scored exactly 1 point.

not to be outdone, Karl Anthony Towns has 41 points and it's not even halftime yet. But the asterisk is he's playing against the Hornets, so it's not as impressive.

Hows Wimby doing? Still the next Lebron, gonna be roomie of year, etc? Saw some stat where he is only averaging like 25 minutes a game, but his numbers looked pretty good for a rook

^^He's lived up to the hype so far for sure. Easy RotY assuming he stays healthy

^He likes to do his damage in the first 2-3 quarters and sit the 4th so that stat makes sense. He's pretty hard to guard.

Yeah I guess Chet has. But Victor has definitely lived up to the hype himself.

Embiid finishes with 70 and 18. Towns sitting on 60 at the moment.

Wemby >>> Chet

Chet is 2 years older AND has had a full year practicing/training with an NBA team(which is a HUGE advantage) Even with these advantages, Wemby is outplaying him. Holmgren also plays on a team with other actual good players, so he's not the center of attention.. San Antonio is in the middle of a tank and Wemby is essentially playing with guards who wouldn't crack any other team's rotation. Chet is going to be a fine NBA player but Wemby has the potential to be a transcendent talent.

Chet is kind of a shitty rebounder for being as tall as he is. His defense rebounding percentage is a pedestrian 17.2% (it's not because his teammates get the rebounds either - OKC is next to last as a team in both OR% and DR%), meanwhile Wemby is in the top 10 in the league at 26.3% DRB. Chet is the more efficient offensive player currently, but i think A LOT of that is the fact that he's at best the third option on that team. He's getting a ton of open looks because teams key on SGA - who is also a much, much better distributor than all the guards on the spurs combined.

In conclusion, the ROTY is still Wemby's to lose.

he’s currently the betting favorite and I’m not going to go back and post all of the NBA podcasts/discussions that I’ve listened to who have had Chet as the ROY all season

this doesn’t matter at all when it comes to the ROY

Chet outplayed Wemby for the first 20-25 games. Since then Wemby has been the better player. Wemby will win it going away (barring injury)

Wemby is a far superior rebounder and defender (Chet allows most second chance points by any rookie) His biggest fault is his offensive efficiency. Which again is mainly a result of having no surrounding talent whereas Chet is the 3rd/4th option on a team with a legitimate superstar PG.

I think what Wemby is doing on an incredibly untalented Spurs team is more impressive than what Holmgy is doing on a talented OKC team

Other than the Pistons, the Spurs definitely suck. What happened to them over the years? All their stars aged out?
How do they get away with tanking two years in a row? They were gifted Wembanyama last year in the lottery. Is the NBA turning a blind eye to them tanking because Popovich is one of the greatest coaches in NBA history?

he's played 37 of their 43 games fwiw

Chet has won a couple WC rookie of the month so I'm sure that factors into the RotY odds

^^

According to a search, the Mavs were fined $750,000 for allegedly tanking last year. That may be less than 2 tenths of a percent of team revenue, but it is still something.

^^fair

^I mean I'm mostly serious, the Spurs aren't out here intentionally losing games by consistently sitting their best players as far as I can tell. They're bad bc they're young and rebuilding. I suspect if the Spurs could compete for a playoff spot they would. But that's totally opinion based.

there’s a difference between tanking and sucking

also, there’s no one worth tanking for in this years draft
