Seeing where our WRs ended up seems obvious that it was a weak position group. Feels safe to say we’ve upgraded there, although some of the guys coming in are unproven.

I think our roster had a lot of dead weight on it this past year. I think the Covid year had a lot to do with that. And some recruiting misses of course. I guess it’s good to see that our best players aren’t getting poached by bigger/better programs. 5 guys (would be 6 assuming Aydan White too) are going to P4 schools. But they all seem like lateral moves at best other than CJ Clark. Hard to say anything definitively since we, of course, want to view this through our red lenses. But it feels like we retained our best and most important players, shed some dead weight that was taking up scholarships, and added some key guys.

As it almost always does for a team of our caliber, next year will be largely dependent on the QB position. And I think we’re all interested to see the defense after losing some very key players.

That's a fair breakdown of things. I do think the defense is taking a step back both in terms of graduates and the transfers out. You're right that offense is unproven, but with the sheer number of skill players added one of them's gotta turn out, right? Collins finally had some good moments in the bowl game too (and that one catch vs UNC) so it really boils down to what we do with McCall. My assumption is that Anae will figure out something cool regardless of how things pan out.

^^miami is prob a step up in terms of NIL money and presumed team talent, but based on on the field performance it's lateral. Didn't see the twins on your list, they haven't yet decided?

My ranking of biggest losses
1) white, easy
2) CJ, wasn't a star but he played and it's important to have depth on d line
3) mj, i suppose if he stayed we may not have gotten Mccall, but presumably our backup next year will be the true freshman? Makes me nervous. Could be #1 in hindsight if Mccall doesn't perform
4) harris, depth at S is an important, at least based on last years injuries
5) Cooper, was kinda bad especially with penalties but was starting as a 3ed year and could have been a decent depth piece

Rooks and Wright could maybe turn into players but I don't think we needed them. Not worried at all about the rest.

I was going off this and didn’t see a destination for the Seabroughs yet.

Defense should be expected to take a step back. Hopefully the offense improves and helps make up for that.

^ pretty much agree with your list there. Definitely think we could stand to add a back up QB but that’s probably hard to do. Most QBs would want to come in and compete. But a veteran to provide some insurance in case of injury would be nice.

Played 300 snaps last season at Oregon. Even if he doesn't start a versatile backup is important.

He played 77 snaps on offense his last year there. If this guy didn't have a ridiculously bad haircut no one would care about him. I don't expect him to have much of an impact here.

Although it probably helps to have a 25+ year old playing against 18 year olds.

He played 329 snaps the previous season. Obviously they thought others were better. As do I. This guy was a top 300 national recruit who has pretty much been a huge bust. Don't really expect him to suddenly become a contributor as a 7th year senior.

^^^ after a 12-0 start we will be invited to join the SEC or the B1G as the next major football powerhouse. The ACC will then collapse and there will be no 2024 ACCCG. Because there’s no ACCCG, we will not receive an invitation to the 12 team playoff.

^^2-2 is def possible. Probably even likely, I’d guess. The good news is, for the purposes of making a run at the ACC title, the Tennessee game won’t matter. And because there’s no divisions, losing to Clemson would not be as difficult to overcome as it was in the division era.

Overall it’s an easy schedule. The opportunity is there for us to play in the ACCCG
