| course comments : | It was alright. I hadn't had any biology course since my freshman year of high school so I had some difficulty with the material and synthesizing it well for the tests. It was required for my major, but this class really showed me that I wasn't interested or passionate about biochemistry and I have since become an art and design major. |

| class comments : | The class was alright and Dr. Beckman's a very friendly, kind man, but I just could not, as much as I studied, do as well as I would've liked to have done in his class. I wish he had covered concepts more thoroughly in class. Class always consists of him lecturing. |

| class comments : | Class was average difficulty. The book really wasnt needed at all. I never read a page because he covers everything in class. Attendance is taken and runs the whole time. |

| instructor comments : | He has a bit of a monotonous voice but adds jokes to keep your attention. He's extremely helpful outside of class and loves to talk to you. he is very willing to help with any problems and always answers questions on test days. |

| course comments : | Great course to take to get general background knowledge in Biology, ahead of learning about the birds and the bees. Medium difficulty, but if you study you should do fine. |

| class comments : | Good course to take. Lab work is somewhat difficult, depending on your TA. Homework and quizzes on in lab. Beckmann covers the material well. Buying the book is a waste of time, he will allow 5th edition and give pages out of that book as well as the 6th. Class of 200, all the faces run together. |

| class comments : | Class was challenging but there was a huge curve; the lab absolutely sucks!!! It is 3 hours and you have more work to do for lab than the actual class. Attendance affects your grade, definately buy the book and use the cd that comes with it.... very helpful!!! |

| class comments : | Class was pretty easy for me, given that we hardly ever, if ever, used the book for anything, and there were powerpoints posted online to print out before class. Attendance is taken every day, and be ready for a quiz every morning, because there will usually be one. |

| class comments : | The class was great. You must attend class if you want to do well. Print off the lecture slides ahead of time and take notes on them in class. Attendance is taken by clicker questions given throughout the whole class. Failure to attend class will really hurt your grade. Study the lecture power points, practice test questions and clicker review questions. Lab requires several quizzes and two detailed lab reports. The lab is not too hard but is far from easy. |
