class comments :Pretty easy class. No attendance policy. The class was cancelled on at least 4 Friday's for one reason or another, Fall Break being one.
instructor :Hamann
instructor rating :4 - Awesome
instructor comments :This guy couldn't speak perfect English, but I always understood what he meant, and is better than most that might have a difficulty with the launguage. Gave a ridiculously large curve. A+ was from 100 - 90, A was from 90 to 83 or something, and so on. Tested only material in which he had taught from the class, and let us use our notes for the tests and the final! I bought the book, but didn't really use it at all.

instructor :Hamann
instructor rating :4 - Awesome
instructor comments :Hamann a native Colombian but speaks good, coherent English (!). He is an animated lecturer and it is not easy to fall asleep in his class. He cancelled class a few times, gave two exams the whole semester with only two problems each, AND gave a final exam that was IDENTICAL IN EVERY WAY to the practice final he gave us. There were two questions on that one, one for competitive market pricing and one for monopoly pricing. The two exams he gave during the semester kicked my ass pretty thoroughly

course comments :Economics is boooring. It's all theory, terms, and jargon. It's stuff you have to learn before you get to the real interesting stuff. Business strategy/philosophy, which is more interesting to me, is not in this class at all, so don't expect that.

class comments :I took the honors section and i dont think it is any different than the regular section. So, it is pretty easy honors credit considering it was pretty easy. Class was let out early very rarely. No HW was required, no attendence policy. You can basically just read the book, take the test, and be fine. His lectures are powerpoint PROVIDED BY THE COMPANY THAT MADE THE TEXT BOOK.

Very easy load (no homework except about 5 nights the whole semester) and one single 5 page paper due at the end...the only thing was the tests were a bit tough and sometimes you'd see questions that he hadn't really went over yet, but he helps you out grade-wise a lot if you just show up daily and participate.

instructor comments :No homework, tests were given back in a timely manner. Available outside of class but didn't help me much tryin to understand him. He's friendly tho, tries to be humorous but comes across dry Understands when students are tryin their best in class. He also gave me a B and for that he gets an Average rating.

course comments :It's economics...you get what you want out of it. Material is interesting if you are a money grubber and serious about your grubbing. This course was required of me as it is required of most of us. There's quite a bit of material, and the material--though simple in theory--was hard as a result of the subtle differences in terms and theories. Economics is hard simply because economists made it that way.
class :Fall 2004 section 011
grade received :B
class rating :0 - Horrible
class comments :It's economics taught by a guy who who doesn't know the definition of the word INTRODUCTION. I'm a smarty pants, and even I had to turn to other resources to get a lame B in the class: internet, multiple texts, friends, etc...
instructor :Tsoulouhas
instructor rating :0 - Horrible
instructor comments :He speaks with an accent, but I had little trouble understanding him--others may feel differently. Assignments were graded promptly but NEVER explained. He had no set office hours, which basically means you better be prepared to suck a dick if you want to meet with him. He was very friendly, a truly nice guy. As far as teaching goes, this man is awful. He is awful because he lacks perspective: he thinks because it's easy for him it must be easy for everyone else. And he is wrong about that

instructor comments :He's a good teacher, but man he has a horrible sense of humor. He has this stack of index cards that he reads jokes from, and I sat in the front row so yea, had to fake the laugh more than once.

class comments :The class was super easy with Headen. We didn't get out early and he took attendance (even though it didn't count for anything) and it was sometimes slow, but still a good class.

instructor comments :Headen is a funny guy and he was very friendly. He graded tests by the next class meeting and he was always on time. He will make you laugh one way or another.

class comments :The curves on the 3 tests and the exam gave me my B. The CPS remote thing was distracting at times and it was required for every class to take attendence and to grade homework.
instructor :Tsoulouhas

instructor comments :He is a nice guy and kind of funny at times, but he is not a good instructor for this class. He never explained anything and he would never repeat questions while he was giving us graded oral test reviews. He gave decent curves, which is a plus.

class :Spring 2006 section 002

class comments :Only needed the book once or twice for problem sets that are 10% of the grade. Those were easy as well as the tests since all he did to make questions was rewording or using exact questions off the companion website. The 5 short answer questions on each test were pretty easy if you paid any attention at all. "What is Microeconomics?" I mean come on...easy.
instructor :Headen
instructor rating :2 - Average
instructor comments :Stuttered quite a bit, and always talked about econ using stories about chicken and shoes. His clumsiness was funnier than most of his corny jokes though...
