| class comments : | i was lucky as hell to escape with a C after my first test (42). this guy gave us problems that weren't that hard, but his grading is insane. me and my bud both got a similar answer on the same problem on a test and i got full credit and he got MINUS THIRTY. the department head promised us that gonzales will never teach this class ever again. you guys are lucky! |

| instructor comments : | He did lots of examples, which is what helps me learn. Plus he lets you look at the answer key to the homework problems anytime you want to. The only bad part is that he grades on a curve, so if you're not at least a standard deviation above the mean, it's not an A. |

Boles made things seem easier and used real world examples which were pretty interesting. the tests are graded very strictly so definately do the hw so you will understand the material. some people thought he was kind of a jerk but i never had a problem with him. just show up for class and he'll like you. oh and TURN YOUR CELL PHONE OFF!! he takes off pts if it rings. i would definately take him for thermo 2 |

| class comments : | She listed a text in the syllabus for some reason, but we didn't use it at all. It was straight notes and examples from her. There were 8 quizes, 14 homework sets, and a final. Quizes were 55%, homework 10%, and final 35%. We went fast and finished the material about 3 weeks before finals. |

The only form of communication used was her web site. If you didn't check it often, you wouldn't know if anything new was going on. She didn't use email. |

| class comments : | Taught by a grad student (Cassidy). He was good, but basically just read his lecture notes and copied them on the board. He did a ton of examples, which helped. He graded extremely fast. No attendance was taken and we didn't get out early too much, if at all. Book is definitely necessary and I thought it was very well written. Grading was extremely fair, lots of partial credit. |

| class comments : | Despite getting a C, it's still a good class. He's the guy to take for thermo if you want to learn the material. He wrote the book, his lecture notes are online and very helpful, but his lecture is a tad dry. Regardless, you get out what you put in. Tests are graded fairly strict. |

He's quiet, but he often gives real-world examples and makes things very clear for anyone with questions. He expects a lot of his students, so don't expect a slack teacher, but he's the best engineering teacher I've had yet. |

| class comments : | I really didn't like this class. Echekki refused to do examples so I didn't really understand what was going on. He went nuts because he thought tons of people were skipping class when they had really dropped the course so he sent out a nasty e-mail and started taking attendance every day. Class was never let out early- he'd write up two lines of stuff for the next chapter to use up all his time and then write the same two lines at the beginning of the next lecture. The book is a must have. |
