Name of course : Sports Law
Description : Fundamental principles of law, especially tort and contract law, applied to sports situations. Analysis of liability of sports personnel in various roles including participant, coach, promoter, trainer and official. Analysis of common law court decisions in sports contexts well as key state and federal statutory legislation such as civil rights and antitrust.

course comments :The course description seemed interesting; the course I took didn't do a good job at filling this description. This rating is based on the course as it was taught to me.

class comments :The major project was a group project that involved basically setting up a management plan for a golf course. The class is Sports Law, not Sports Facility Management. I was very disappointed in the course. Class let out early very frequently, and there was no attendance policy. This wasn't really a sports law course at all.

instructor comments :Kanters would give a lecture and then, after you had already written the information down, he would say "NAH! I was just kiddin about all that" and then begin lecturing for real. He wasn't very helpful at all to me; never really made clear exactly what he wanted. The only thing that resembled a Sports Law class was the midterm; everything else was similar to a facility management course.
