instructor comments :Risley just does things different from Beichner. I took 205 and 208 scale UP to make sure I didnt fail my PY senquence, but I just was spoiled having Beich for 205. Basically, take Beichner for 208 scale UP also

Frequent homework, but it was easy WebAssign. Even the tests and final are WebAssign, which I really liked.

No one fucking cares how to calculate how light waves interact to produce interference patterns. class comments :SCALE-UP is way better than the average sections, and you definitely get way more out of the class than being in a standard lecture. I definitely recommend SCALE-UP over the normal sections. I'd call it moderately difficult, the classes sheer reliance on webassign is stupid.

class comments :I really liked the Scale Up section. There are a lot of little assignments like webassigns and quizzes every week but this means a few bad grades or zeros wont hurt much at all. I think I learned a lot by the end of the semester because of the unique perspective on the material. I would recommend this class if you are actually interested in learning, but not if you are a lazy slacker who skips class all the time.

class comments :Mowats lectures were all presented via webpage...kinda powerpoint style, but the students didn't have access to the lectures outside of class. Lots of WebAssign homework, but he is pretty easy to get extensions from. The key to doing well in this class was the Practice Exam booklets that the book store has for sale....95% of the tests are similar to the previous semesters tests. Only problem was that the final exam was nothing like the previous semesters....hence the B. Also, the Physics Tut

One day my friend noticed the url to Mowat's online lecture slides, and after that, I made little effort to go to class. My grades improved after that.

class comments :pretty good teacher. went through material quickly, and we usually had couple days before tests to work examples. all notes were posted online, so note taking in class was a lot easier. he usually worked webassigns in class! :D with the help of TWW for getting constants, i was able to get through without buying the book. usually got out 15 minutes early. about even male:female, but if you're trying to pick up girls in an engineering class, you have issues.

Dr. Chabay did a good job of presenting the material and using in class labs to keep people awake. their is an attendence policy that is tracked through the in class remotes that students use. expect webassign a few times a week and a weekly quiz. With effort their is no reason though to not get an A. Webassigns were the only thing bringing my grade down

The material builds on itself (sort of) a lot of equations seem to be the relatable to the physical nature of the model of electricity, and all are important in different situations.

class comments :The class format made if a comfortable environment, natural associations with teammates made the quizes and labs easier, since team work came almost effortlessly. Lots of different types of teaching methods are used, websites, demonstrations, lectures, computer simulations. Attendence was based on using a clicker to answer simple quesitons on the material. All work (including tests) were done through webassign which had its ups and downs. But was overall pretty painless and helpful.

class comments :Class wasnt too bad. Webassigns out the ass though, Atleast 3-4 per week. Extra credit webassigns as well. Tests are 15 multiple choice and a couple free response. Must Buy Book for WebAss's. Labs are easy. Take advantage of them, as well as the webassigns (not so easy, but plenty submissions) Work the practice tests! They help.

instructor comments :Man, this guy just can't speak up. Sit in the front 5 rows to hear! Nice guy, but doesn't show much enthusiasim. I didn't go to class much at all, and my test scores reflected it. Labs suck but are easy to help your grade.

class comments :Teacher made class pretty interesting. PRS questions make sure you pay attention, and also take attendance. Teacher was pretty good, but got confusing at times. Lots of webassigns. Tests werent too hard.

class comments :Book sucks and dosen't help at all. Lectures suck and just read from the worthless book. Labs, homeworks, and everything else in this course is horrible. Tests are at night and there is no test review at all. To put it simple, this course is down right homesexual.

course comments :This is a much more complicated physics class than 205, do not be misled. YOU MUST do the homework yourself whenever possible and ALWAYS use the book before asking somebody for help. If you don't, you will have a hard time on the tests.

class comments :This specific course is a TEST course. It's very easy to do the assignments. Everything (even tests and clicker questions) is done on webassign. Tests have multiple submissions, with reduced credit per submission. Good if you suck at physics.

course comments :This was simply an extension of the regular 208 class, LAB usually didn't involve much of anything special for a lab (outside of the rest of the week). It's usually when there's a quiz.

class comments :Well, the class is fine as long as a TA isn't teaching it. Nemanich must be a popular prof. b/c he was always traveling and having the crappy TA's try to teach. Either way, I never put more than an hour into studying for the exams and got above a 90% on all FIVE of them. (yea there are 5 exams)

class comments :Typical summer session class. Over an hour-and-a-half of new material each day. Keep up with the work, and the five weeks will fly by. It's a PAMS course so--of course--there will be copious amounts of WebAssign. Pace was pretty quick, but it was an accelerated summer course.
