| course comments : | Class was okay, but very little actual hands on for circuits. Would be better if they implemented a practical portion to coincide with theory. |

| class comments : | The class was in Park Shops and done for Dist Ed. No ECE course like this should be taught that way. It limits the ability of the prof to use the black/white board and solve problems in class |

| instructor comments : | Dr. Walsh knows his stuff, and has real world experience. He was friendly and helpful and always helped out during office hours. |

| class comments : | Dr. Walsh's class was videoed so you didn't have to attend the 8AM class- you could just watch the video later. |

| instructor rating : | 2 - Average |
| instructor comments : | Walsh tried to make class interesting by using real-life examples, but this meant he'd spend 3/4 of the class talking about pipe organs, not how to do the homework and test problems.
He didn't just copy the previous year's tests like the other teachers do, but on the tests he made up, he would figure out in the middle of the test that his problems didn't quite work out and he'd have to announce "change that 3 to a 4 and don't solve for x only solve for y" stuff like that for every problem. |

| course comments : | foundation for a lot of upper level courses. covers a good bit of material, although none of it is extremely hard. the labs sucks; not useful at all, boring, and held you until the end whether you were done or not. |

| class comments : | I got a lot out of the class, but I had to teach most of it to myself. The material was taught relatively slowly compared to other sections, so it was rarely in depth enough for the homeworks, but on the reverse side, the tests were easy. Walsh is a great guy with plenty of experience, but the class wasn't taught as well as it could have been. |

| instructor comments : | Great guy, really down to earth and straightforward. Spends a little too much time meandering through the material, but some people seemed to prefer that. He did have a few of the concepts a little mixed up, but not to the point where it was confusing. |

| instructor comments : | Do not listen to anyone who says he is a good professor or funny. He is fucking terrible. He tries to crack a joke maybe once a class about his daughter getting drunk or something stupid. He is the worst teacher you could possibly get for 212. All he does is just draw truth tables on the board for 20 minutes without saying anything at all. |

| class comments : | The combo of 212 and walsh is deadly. You learn nothing from walsh's lectures and the book is literally a piece of shit. Walsh actually said in class google is a great way to do the homework. I would steer clear of 212 with walsh. |

| instructor comments : | Worst teacher I have had an NCSU. He speaks softly and to the board. He wrote examples on the board but failed to explain them. There was essentially no instruction from him. He didnt even write the hw's, he used the ones from last year. His tests were ok but were more difficult than should have been b/c he sucks. Also he stated at the beginning of the year he will NOT respond to emails - sounds like a professor that cares about his class :/ |

| class comments : | The class wasn't too rough - had to stay on top of the homeworks though - they took some time. The book was a necessity for doing the hw, but crap in all other areas - don't trust the answers in the back. |

| instructor comments : | Walsh is a great professor and hints at comedy once in a while. Also, he is decently paced on topics - not horrendously fast. |

| class comments : | .. too bad they couldn't find an interesting professor. Walsh was HORRID. He spoke at 5 dB and what he lectured on had NOTHING to do with the homeworks. He was often clueless and he wouldn't realize he was making a mistake in an example until someone pointed it out to him. Every lecture consisted of us sitting down, Walsh writing on the board for about 30 minutes, saying a few words, writing on the board for another 20 minutes, saying a few more words, and then writing until the end of class |

| instructor comments : | 212 + Walsh = mistake. Take 212 with Rotenberg, I hear the folks in his class have an enjoyable experience. Walsh's class is absolutely lifeless and boring. I once went to sleep for 15 minutes and when I woke up he had only written 1 paragraph... sheesh... |
