| class comments : | The class is fairly easy. The material is presents clear. Expect to take A LOT of notes!! There is an attendance policy. Do not buy the books they are avaliable in the library on reserve, as well as in the stacks for check out (they may be an edition back). |

| instructor comments : | Very nice woman. Presents the material in about the most interesting way possible- i'm sure it must be hard. Took a little long to get back graded papers. Overall good. |

| class comments : | you can't really miss any classes. i took about 4 pages of notes per class (front side only). tests were mostly paragraph essays with a 35 point essay who's subject was announced at the beginning of each section. 10 points of each test was from reading (which wasn't worth it in my opinion) |

| class comments : | Oh dear.... Ok, this class was insanely boring. I loathed going to class every time, and you really had to if you wanted a good grade.
The books were fairly interesting in places, but they were often extremely redundant, and lectures covered it anyway.
Note: Tests were 88% from LECTURE NOTES, 2% from the dumb book, and 10% from the less-dumb book.

| course comments : | A 3 from an engineering major. It was one of the more interesting history classes I've taken. It covered all aspects and all time periods of Roman history. |

| class comments : | This class requires an insane amount of note-taking (at least 1 page front/back per class, and I write small). This might seem bad, but her lectures are very well delivered, so notes seem to flow easily and write themselves. We had to submit "journals" on the books we had to read, we had a term paper on a topic of our choosing, a midterm comprised of essays, and a final a bit longer than the midterm. The lecture notes are your most valuable study tool; I made an A- with just skimming the books |

| instructor comments : | Dr. DeT is an extremely bright and pleasant teacher. Her lectures are always well delivered, and her assignments and grading are always fair. She will happily answer any questions you have and will work with you if you have any problems. I'd recommend her for ANY history class, not just 404. |
