| class comments : | He loved to just get up and talk. If you payed attention and scrawled down the occasional note you should do well. He assigns 2 papers and he will grade and edit them before they are due so you can improve your paper if you want. Most of the grade comes from writing in this class, so if you're not a descent writer, steer clear. |

| class comments : | There are 2 papers plus midterms. You can write the papers on practically any topic you want. The midterms require that you have been in class and read his study guide (I keep mine, since they're invaluable later on). |

| instructor comments : | I, along with many others, have taken several of his classes. He is a great person, and is one of the few that sticks up for the military crowd. Occasionally, he'll get off subject and tell one of his numerous stories, but often times they're just as good as the lectures--and more often than not, there's a historical point in them. One of the greatest instructors I've had at NCSU. |

| class comments : | It is always nice to have someone who really knows and enjoys what they are teaching. Caddell is both. The work wasn't too hard, learn some geography, do a book review, write a thesis paper, a midterm then final. Just have to read and not wait until the last minute. |

| class comments : | Attendance wasn't taken except the first week. The class consisted of two papers, two tests, and a final. He gives you the essay questions a week ahead of time and u have a few ID's to do in class for the rest of the test. He's very interesting to listen to and gets off subject easily. There are movie nights at his house if ur into that kinda thing. He really is a fun teacher. |

| class comments : | Looking for an easy class? This is it. No homework, light reading, no quizzes, no tests, one midterm, one final, and two small papers. The only 8AM lecture I was ever willing to get up for. Extremely interesting classes, this stuff won't put you to sleep. |

| class comments : | workload reasonable. the papers are not hard if you put enough work into them. you can choose your topic from the entire breadth of US history since 1939. |
