| course comments : | Required. When over a formaula about 5 weeks into the semester, told us that was more or less the reason why we had to take this class. |

| course comments : | As interesting as a 3rd course in calculus can be. The material isn't easy but if you spend some time with it, it will come to you. Required course. |

| class comments : | Hard course - offers suggested problems but they arent required. Highly recommend doing them or looking over them. |

| course comments : | Bah, last semester in calculus. Triple integrals are useful to learn, but nothing I couldn't have learned on my own. I haven't used anything else in this course since. |

| class comments : | Budget cuts this semester meant no TA to grade homework. He randomly collected a single homework during the semester (size 100 students) to grade ... once called you were done.
He did a fairly thorougly job of explaining concepts and curved tests (though not excessively). |

| instructor comments : | Taught the course as much as I would expect any professor to. Maple Labs being extra credit were a nice plus. |

| instructor comments : | Speaks perfect english...with a thick accent. Had a PhD sense of humor...laughed, but often the humor was condescending. Got the same feeling from the tests. Had a C going into the final...don't know what the hell happened here. Here we go again. |

| course comments : | Interesting material, gives you a good idea of what goes into coding routines in MATLAB or other mathematical packages for numerical analysis, working especially with large matrices. |
| class : | Fall 2002 section 001 |
| grade received : | A+ |
| class rating : | 3 - Good |
| class comments : | Stimulating project assignments, good mix of theoretical work and practical application/implementation of computer algorithms. Some of the computer assignments were pretty cool, in that you got to see how your code stacked up in computational efficiency to the code built in to MATLAB. |

| instructor comments : | Very good; French, but speaks English very well. Interesting lectures, pretty friendly and funny during class; doesn't make lectures tremendously interactive, but enough to keep you on your toes. My only complaint is that he's extremely slack in grading assignments--we had five project assignments during the semester, and by the time of the final exam, he'd only given two of them back to us. Other than that, he's a pretty cool guy. |

| course comments : | Did not enjoy the course. The material is boring and has no obvious application to my major (Chemical Engineering). Material a bit tricky at times (b/c of the way it was taught). |

| class comments : | The class was a bit work intensive. There were several projects that were difficult at times. Only two tests though. Material was not present well at all though, you'll do a lot of searching on the internet to understand the material (and there is surprising a lot of information on the internet about that). |

| course comments : | The material is pretty complex. You basically solve math problems on the computer by writing the algorithm using matlab. |

| class comments : | The class was pretty boring. The final grade was made up of 5 homework assignments. But the assignments were pretty tricky which is why I ended up with a C+. There was no final exam or any tests. |
