course :NE 301
course rating :1 - Bad
course comments :Nothing in this course is useful. Either you learned it before, or you'll learn it in much more detail later. This once-over doesn't help at all.
class :Fall 2002 section 001
grade received :N/A
class rating :1 - Bad
class comments :I gave up and only came to class for tests and homework the last 2/3 of the way.
instructor :Hankins

instructor comments :The thing he'll cover most is his son's soccer games. He'd trip up over algebra and do a derivation for the whole class period. He probably knows his stuff, but don't count on him imparting it to you.

course :NE 419

course comments :I didn't find nuclear engineering all that interesting.
class :Fall 2002 section 001
grade received :B
class rating :3 - Good
class comments :There was a lot of work required to turn in. The class usually lasted the whole time. The book was worth buying ONLY because he assigned our homework out of it. Other than that it wasn't helpful. We did get to take a tour of PULSTAR.

course :NE 301
course rating :2 - Average
course comments :You have to take it and make a C- or better. I don't remember much else from the material except the six-factor formula.
class :Fall 2004 section 001
grade received :C
class rating :2 - Average
class comments :The lecture is basically all derivations that you don't have to do over again. The book is worthless other than listing homework problems. The labs are thankfully 25% of your grade. It honestly varies; some people really understood it, and some like me really didn't. Oh, and expect all of your lab reports to be due within a 2-week period during and after thanksgiving. My suggestion: MAKE FRIENDS and study with SMART PEOPLE. It's your only hope.

instructor comments :I have to give him at least a 2 because he gave me my C. My test average including my final was poor, and since I never saw a single lab report grade, I can only assume he boosted my final grade with that. He's a nice guy, but his teaching methods leave something to be desired. He's probably tech-savvy enough to read this too, so I'm glad I passed.

course :NE 301L
course rating :2 - Average
course comments :NE301 labs were not very helpful. Lots of counting experiments... the neutron counting experiment was probably the best.
class :Fall 2004 section 202
grade received :N/A
class rating :1 - Bad
class comments :Split up into groups and start counting for the next 3 hours. And don't mess up, or you'll be there for another 3 hours to redo it.
instructor :Hankins

instructor comments :Greg was a strict grader, but easy to get along with during the labs.
