| course comments : | hard to tell, i doubt the course is taught the same way across the department, i didn't like it anyway |
| class : | Spring 2000 section 001 |
| grade received : | C+ |
| class rating : | 2 - Average |
| class comments : | There was some interesting discussion but it was so abstract I really didn't learn much. I also found the exams hard because it was difficult to understand all the concepts and then determine what should be studied. |

| instructor comments : | Even though I didn't like the tests I think this guy is a good teacher. His material in this class just didn't click with me for some reason. |

| course : | PHI 314 |
| course rating : | 3 - Good |
| course comments : | The course discusses the nature of business from an ethical perspective. Approaches questions such as fairness in labor relations, pricing, advertising, etc. |
| class : | Sum I 2002 section 002 |
| grade received : | A |
| class rating : | 3 - Good |
| class comments : | The class didn't talk much about business ethics at all. This course was mainly taught as a regular intro philosophy class, as in we talked about human existence, Aristotle, meaning of life, etc. The book was a collection of opinion works by various writers, most of who hated business and capitalism. Two tests: set of essay questions for one and a set of short papers for the other. Final was a paper. You also had to summarize lectures and turn them in the next day. |

| instructor comments : | I enjoyed having Dr. Savage for this course. He is funny, fosters lots of discussion, and likes for the class to participate. He does say some off-the-wall stuff and tries to get students to agree with it. If you participate and turn in all your work, you should have no problem. He is a good pick for this class. |

| course rating : | 0 - Horrible |
| course comments : | The material is incredibly boring. Main focus on Plato and Socrates, and a little on Aristotle. The readings are boring and hard to understand. |

| instructor comments : | Interjects his opinion in all readings, we were actually tested on what his opinion of particular readings were. He expects that students read and understand the readings with little help. |

| course : | PHI 300 |
| course rating : | 1 - Bad |
| course comments : | I found the material very dense, mostly uninteresting. A lot of reading involved. Covered the Presocratics, Plato, and Aristotle. Very tough for anyone who hasn't taken philosophy before. |
| class : | Spring 2003 section 001 |
| grade received : | B |
| class rating : | 1 - Bad |
| class comments : | We had to do a lot of reading and discuss it in class. We had three tests, which were just papers that we had to write on topics like, "discuss everything we've talked about so far." Class was incredibly boring. I dreaded going just about every day. |

| instructor comments : | A funny and nice guy, but one of the worst teachers I've had at State. He wouldn't check email, he gave almost zero feedback on papers, even when I asked him about it after class. Lectures involved listening to him talk about jibberish (how it seemed to me at least) for an hour and 20. Don't take this class if you can help it! |
