course :PY 205
course rating :3 - Good
course comments :Easy material, but also sort of interesting. Not much you didn't have in high school physics.

class comments :Easy class. Not much work, and the labs were simple. Chilton did a great job presenting information. Roll was passed, but I don't think it had any affect on the grade. Don't bother buying the book. I wish I hadn't.

instructor comments :I really enjoyed Chilton. He always had some off the wall drawing to show a problem. He had some pretty funny jokes too.

class comments :Basic physics. Unlike other PY 211 classes we had almost weekly quizzes and had three webassigns. Two were due before each lecture and questions came from material that had to be read before the lecture, but these webassigns were not that long, the other webassign dealt with the material that he covered in the lectures. For his tests I would recommend that you study the notes and look at the webassign problems and don't worry that much about the end of chapter problems.

instructor comments :Presented the material well. If you want to understand physics then take Chilton. He is a nice person and is very helpful outside of class.

course comments :Easy. BUY THE PRACTICE TESTS FROM THE BOOKSTORE! 90% of the questions on the practice tests from the bookstores were on the test with numbers changed!

course comments :Boring if you've taken *any* physics course before (even a high school level that isn't AP). Covers mechanics, fairly easy material. Some content near the end is dicey, but difficulty is still low. Too many freaking webassigns.

class comments :Another course I should've done better in. Four common night tests, webassigns, labs (from PY 205L) is essentially what the grade is.
instructor :Chilton
instructor rating :3 - Good
instructor comments :Pretty much no nonsense teacher who gives you the straight dope with limited frills. Understated sense of humor that shows up later in the semester. Uses all 50 minutes well, and teaches material well.

course comments :Definately more interesting than the first semester of physics. Material was usually pretty easy. However, that has to do with the instructor as well.

class comments :The course material was generally pretty easy. There were no real difficult concepts. I found the material pretty interesting and applicable. The material was presented in a very straight forward manor with good explanation. I rarely used the book except to help with WA problems.

instructor comments :This semester of physics was so much better than my py211 experience with a different professor. I really liked Chilton's teaching style. He moves slow enough that it's easy to keep up. I rarely read ahead in the book. I did very well in the course and credit it to his test formats which follow very closely to his practice tests. He's clear in what he is expecting you to know for the tests. He also gave a couple extra credit opportunities. Chilton is pretty humorous at times and keeps things int
