When he recieves a phone call from his best friend.
"Bill you have to come to the emergency room right away, your wife was in a car accident and it doesn't look good."
Bill quickly drives over to the hospital and is greeted by a doctor with a grave look on his face.
"Is my wife alright?"
"Mr. Smith, I'm afraid the impact severed a portion of your wifes spinal column and as a result she is paralyzed from the neck down. I'm sorry, but from now on you'll have to be at her constant aid, you'll need to feed her, bathe her, wipe her. Attend to all her needs."
Bill's face when pale, "Oh my God, are you serious?"
The Doctor suddenly smiles brightly, and slaps Bill on the shoulder replying,
"Nah man I'm just kidding, she's dead"
