does anyone else have a problem when they get a PM? whenever the little 'inbox' turns green, it freezes up IE and i have to close the window and come back to tdub again OR it just lags my computer to pieces. i didn't know if anyone ever had this problem? could it be the script, or it it just my PC? 4/20/2003 4:31:26 PM |

Yeah, the sound is done via an ActiveX script. When I use IE, since I have them set to always prompt before running, it asks me before loading the page so I'll chose to listen to the sound or not.
PS, if you do this, you don't hear those annoying flash songs in threads that you can't stop, unless you allow them to load. Very nice! No more I like to move it move it or peanut butter jelly time! 4/21/2003 12:30:49 AM |

In IE 6.0:
Tools, Internet Options, Security Tab, Custom Level...
Mark everything that is ActiveX related to prompt. Then everytime it comes to an embedded sound, activex embedded ad, etc, it will prompt you and just hit enter to say no. It cuts down on some types of ads as well....
While you're at it disable the pop-ups too... 4/26/2003 2:19:42 AM |
