there are 2 FDNY firefighters stranded in RDU right now as their flights were cancelled to NYC... but low and behold my brothers will be back in NYC tommorow to assist with the rescue... rather recovery mission that's to come...

I have just found out that the FDNY Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, Fire Commissioner, and the FDNY Chaplain are all dead... and the number is up to 265, over half of the initial 400 brothers and sisters that were first to respond to the box alarm.....

As the time goes on I plan on making it to NYC for the services for my brothers and sisters who were lost today....

they are heros.

That is horrible. My grandmother must be devestated by this news. (My grandfather was a NY Fire Fighter and she gets distraught everytime a NY FIreman dies). Keep their families in your prayers.

my cousin is a cop in NY and works on the street right in front of the WTC. He saw the 2nd plane fly into the building. His police partner is believed to be dead. He was lost right after the WTC fell. He's under all the rubble. My uncle is a firefighter in NYC and was one of the groups first on the seen. After the WTC fell, most of his entire firedepartment died under the rubble.

Shit is fucked up. NY is my home and some shit fuckin bastered does some shit to kill mad people. Fuck the leader, whoever was the mastermind. If it was a religious war, what the fuck kind of religious stuff is going on in the world that this can happen. Man, I tell you. Fuckin Pissed.

In additon several other high level FDNY officers are dead

although there are reports that port authority police and FDNY firefighters are still alive in the rubble

Downey headed FDNY's FEMA USAR team and had been involved in numerous rescue operations, including the previous bombing of the World Trade Center and the Oklahoma City Federal Building bombing.

An estimated 200 firefighters may have died and as many as 80 police officers were believed to be missing Tuesday after two planes slammed into the twin skyscrapers in lower Manhattan.

Can you say you'd be brave enough to risk your life trying to save the life of another trapped in this horror? They answered that question today...

These men and women put their lives on the line every day of their career... We owe it to all of those lost to thank those that protect and serve the public... You never know when they might be the ones risking their lives to save you...
