Shit, the Cardinals might be lucky to get 3rd. The central is damn good this year and St Louis is just due for a BIG collapse. Of course this is just me being optimistic. 4/8/2004 1:39:46 AM |

we expected him to continue the excellence he showed he was capable of with the yankees and he disappointed big time. i'm loyal to our players to a point but that motherfucker let me down too many times (see 2002 nlcs). good riddance. 4/13/2004 3:40:53 PM |

you are entitled to your opinion. Tino is the reason I became such a big STL fand to begin, and I still contend that he is a great player. And I wish him the best of luck with the TB Devil Rays. 4/13/2004 3:47:42 PM |
ncstatetke All American 41128 Posts user info edit post |
yeah, Tino was a disappointment and frankly JD was too
although Tino had a bit of an excuse (bad knees and back) he should have done more. JD had no excuse. he should have been a 100/40/120 man. i feel bad for the Braves 4/13/2004 3:49:15 PM |

^^I'm curious, what about tino made you become a cards fan?
drew was cool, although the fact that he was seemingly injured all the time and the primadonna thing when he was being drafted tainted my opinion of him a little. 4/13/2004 3:52:35 PM |
Woodfoot All American 60354 Posts user info edit post |
the draft is the reason i like jd man...
seriously, someone who thinks highly enough of themselves to sit out a year....you have to respect that
no sarcasm whatsoever
he knew he was worth more money and belonged on a team with playoff/championship potential... 4/14/2004 9:43:33 PM |
Sousapickle All American 3027 Posts user info edit post |
i suppose. i just tended to side with the players who thought he should pay his dues in the big leagues before making demands. by the way he's got 5 hits and 7 Ks in 27 ABs this year...i don't know how much money he thinks he's worth.
but seriously, this year is starting to upset me. 1-6 at home, horrible bullpen. it's like jocketty went out and said "who is the absolute worst relief pitcher in the game...julian tavarez? cool, let's get him." also, can anyone explain to me the point of getting ray lankford? maybe i'm not seeing what the cards are seeing, but ray lankford? he's gotta be 40 by now, and strikes out like whoa. look at my mad face! AHHH! 4/15/2004 12:37:13 AM |

^^well, lankford has a history with the Cards. i guess that's why.

Sousapickle All American 3027 Posts user info edit post |
Every team has off-days offensively. Our downfall this year, if LaRussa and Jocketty continue to ignore it, will undoubtedly be pitching; namely, Julian Tavarez (actually, complete lack of bullpen depth, I just really don't like Tavarez).
