well, i thought i'd address Tayla's comment about my little blank line that i use to end my posts. i just decided to do something to add a bit of individuality, as several other users here have also done. what do yall think about this practice of signing posts? is it overdone or annoying? maybe i should only do it when making a definitive statement, but now when asking a question? i'm curious to know your thoughts, and feel free to discuss your own signatures if you think mine is lame.

(and about the line...i dont know why it's blank, you tell me.....and why is it always 6 spaces long? cause my number is 51, but 51 spaces is too long, so 5+1=6.)

I have no problem with yours, since it's not a graphic that takes time to download. I wouldn't be too happy with a bunch of elaborate artwork for signatures. That would make some threads just too much.

I don't even really like the non-graphic signatures. Seems kind of redundant considering you've already got your screenname and personalized user status (if you're a premium member) right beside every post.

There are fixed-width fonts and variable-width fonts. In fixed-width fonts, every character is set to the same width, which allows for nice ASCII art. Variable-width fonts are much more natural, professional typefaces. They're also way easier to read, and that's why the Wolf Web uses them by default.

In HTML, you can use the <pre> tag to denote a section of text as being preformatted, which renders it in a fixed-width font.
