Anyone have and useful info on this tv?

I was over at Best Buy and it seemed to have the best looking picture. Kinda pricey but, I'm willing to fork it over for football season .

It's pretty much the best LCD that you can buy.

If you were looking at it at Bestbuy, it just dropped 2 grand from last week. It used to sell for 7k and now its only 5k

i almost bought it for 3900 monday, but went with a 24" widescreen LCD monitor from dell instead, because i'm using it mainly for a monitor

don't buy plasma, buy an LCD TV or a DLP if you don't mind using more space.

why? I know plasma's have a danger of burn in, but most places I have looked says thats not really a big deal anymore. The LCD's in the size i am wanting are expensive as shit

^ but the gases that make up each pixel also dissipate after a few years.. and you need to spend some $$ to get it recharged/refilled.. etc.. so plasmas lose color vibrance, and brightness over time..

of course with LCD, you also get burn-in and dead-pixels(which is rare now with todays LCD technology)
and with DLP you have to replace the lamp every so often.

and there is no way an LCD at the size you want is more expensive than a plasma.. if it is.. then the plasma you're looking at is an EDTV and not an HDTV

Ha ha ha ha.... you can't "refill" plasma TVs. Read up on your technology more before you start sounding even dumber.

^ Yeah he's right.

Do what I did. Make sure your walls are painted white (or buy a cheap screen) and spend about $600 on a projector. 95" screen for $600, and it's quality. Mine's only 800x600 (BenQ PB6100) but everyone that sees it is like

Of course, you need a receiver/speakers for sound, but it's amazing.

If you get a projector, get one that will do HD.

XGA is fine for movies, and not terrible for hd. SVGA wouldnt cut it IMO. Run whatever you buy with a htpc and you are good to go as far as wow factor. i got a particle board box hanging from my ceiling and the moment people see a 8 foot wide screen they get excited.
