dayum that's a lot of processes. i average <30 on both laptop and desktop. anyway, restart the computer in safemode and rerun spyware progs. see what happens then.

if no go, download hijackthis and post a log in here or u can go to http://www.hijhackthis.de and paste in the log file which will automatically tell u whats safe and should be deleted. any ?'s just post.

1. remove spybot from add remove programs THEN restart computer in normal mode

2. download microsoft antispyware and install it

3. restart in safe mode and run a virus scan

4. restart in normal mode and run antispyware (be sure to REMOVE and not IGNORE any problems it finds)

5. get back to me if there are any more problems

spybot is not as good as antispyware in my experience, ive read the lists they have of problems they fix, antispyware out numbers it 2:1

i wouldnt uninstall it. i've run AntiSpyware with current version and definitions on computers b4 and it never found anything. but once i used Spybot 2-3 things would be detected.

it is always safe to use multiple programs anyway. no 1 program can do it all. in my experience, spybot, adaware, spysweeper, antispyware and hijackthis have all been amazing when used in conjunction with each other.

You are refering to versions of GATOR. Yes, Antispyware CAN find this now but you have to manually select "delete".

Most common people don't have time to mess around with 5 different spyware programs.

I would uninstall it. The version of Spybot you have is corrupted and will continue to compromise your system with incompatibilities.

If you ever wanted it back you could reinstall a more up to date version also.

actually i'm NOT referring to versions of GATOR. but i'm not here to get into a pissing contest over what is best or not best. i'm here to help the guy out with his problem.

explain to me how u know the version is corrupted?

I think you need to uninstall spybot, give the modem a handjob, rub the hard drive with cheeta's blood, and then burn the computer to the ground.

And then ask the new guy what to do.

Yes. Your low, insignificant post count diminishes your credibility. Your kung fu is weak.

MS Antispyware Beta and Adaware SE are your last options then. Run them in safe mode.
