I was on my laptop and I closed it and a few seconds later I opened it back up but it wouldn't wake up (I have it set to wake up when I open it back up)
So the screen is black but I know it's still on because the music I was listening to is still playing.
I press the power button a few times to try to shut it off and restart and the music is still playing so I figure its not responding and since I can't see the screen I don't really have many options.
So I unplug it (battery was not in at the time) and let it sit for a few seconds then press the power buttong again and it started up with the black screen with white letters saying windows didn't start successfully and to choose an option (start windows normalls, safe mode, safe mode with networking, last known good configuration etc)
I choose an option and the windows start screen comes up but it never starts, it either goes to a blue screen or back to the black screen and it keeps doing this over and over again, even after i chose every option at least once and now its doing it on it's own (there has always been a timer to choose an option before it picks one for you automatically)

Can you start windows then, or what?
if you can't boot into safe mode, then boot to your Operating system CD and do a repair. Come back after that.8/8/2005 2:55:47 PM |

i'm not sure how to do that-- put in the software cd and then what?
the cd driver is kind of fucked up too-- in jammed in there and only works part of the time..... 8/8/2005 4:01:15 PM |

You should be able to just put the cd and follow directions to do a Windows Repair. It should be fairly self explanatory.
