Model?
I would use ebay for an approx worth. Look for a replacement screen and subtract that from the value of the laptop if it were working. Adjust for repair cost.

My father-in-law cracked his 17" HP screen and brand new from HP was $900+ dollars. He found one off of e-bay, brand new sealed in HP box for ~$400 or so. Easy to replace though...not a hard replacement at all. 8/16/2005 10:02:25 PM |

a 19" laptop? never heard of it, think you meant 15" UXGA, that's a $400 replacement
est. roughly 25% of it's original cost - $400 = worth of laptop

the laptop is probably worth alot more than 25% of original cost
that means if he paid $1000, then its worth 250 - $400 = -$150
if thats so i'll take it. 8/17/2005 12:23:18 AM |

good news (maybe)
I found a screen that fits my SIZE specs and the pictures match where you plug it in at perfectly but its a ZE5500 instead of a ZE5600 screen.
Would they still be compatible even if I had the system utilities disk? 8/17/2005 12:30:33 AM |
