if you buy the tix online, they cost $8, but with the "handling fee" it comes to $9.25, a giant savings 8/19/2005 3:30:41 PM |

When I saw them, the blues songs they did were awesome, the Cream stuff was a little lacking.8/20/2005 1:31:15 PM |

the inside stage doesnt really sellout. like i believe once its full you just gotta wait for more people to come out. its not like theres 2 different tickets. theyll just keep the place packed and let people in as people come out. im curious to know where the big outside stage is located. 8/20/2005 1:55:22 PM |

i was just up there. its outside on cabarrus street right in front facing longways on the street. pretty nice stage setup. id park in the deck by the convention center and walk over there. theres not really any parking there. 8/20/2005 2:48:43 PM |

Appetite and Zoso were excellent as usual, and I enjoyed Ride the lightning as well. The singer does a pretty good het growl, but he butchered nothing else matters.
And the guitarist looks EXACTLY like kirk hammett
Also, bitches were showing titties, which is always fun to watch.

yeah zoso and appetite were great. solos and everything were spot on. ride the lightning band, man i just felt like they were sloppy. the guitar playing, especially the kirk wannabe. he was sucking the shit up. i only saw a few songs of the pink floyd band but they werent bad, they actually had some skill unlike a few people. 8/21/2005 10:59:57 AM |

yeah, Ride The Lightning played pretty sloppy, and the vocals weren't even close or very good, in my opinion. i enjoyed watching them anyway, but they're not even close to being on the same level as AFD, ZOSO, or Floydian Slip (who did a really good job, in my opinion. Pink Floyd has got to be a real pain in the ass to cover, even with pre-recorded sound effects).
i didn't think it was one of the better Appetite shows i'd seen, but it was still good. Throwing in that cover of Slither by Velvet Revolver was cool.
By the way, I've seen them do an awesome cover of Man In the Box by Alice In Chains a couple of times (once was the day that Layne Staley died, or maybe a day after). I think they do it every now and then just for fun. 8/22/2005 12:30:56 PM |
