the charge pin needs to be resoldered inside. i know a lot about desktops, i've built my own computer, but never successfully opened a laptop. are there disassembly instructions anywhere on the web? other suggestions?

any help in this matter would be appreciated

I assume that your warrenty is expired? I hate this problem with laptops. OEMs need to better design solutions to this very common problem.
