I restarted my computer, and when it came back on, my mouse, keyboard and monitor arent working AT ALL....it flashes "NO SIGNAL" for a second, and then it goes black. my brother told me that it could be my graphics card, but how can i fix it without being able to see anything on the screen!! HELP!! 8/28/2005 4:20:58 PM |

Unplug them and plug them back in.
If they're not hot-swappable, then turn the computer off when unplugging them. 8/28/2005 4:23:13 PM |

If you'll bring it by tonight I'll take a look at it for free. If it turns out your monitor/vid card is shot I've got plenty here for sale cheap. 8/28/2005 5:07:29 PM |

gotcha.
A video card isn't difficult to replace. Take the case off, remove one screw and pull it out. If it was in a white slot it's a PCI card, brown slot=AGP, black slot=PCI-E. Replace it with an equivalent, boot to windows, install drivers. Just BE SURE to touch metal frequently before you touch anything inside a PC.
Basic PCI cards can usually be had at compusa or elsewhere for <$20. 8/28/2005 5:36:26 PM |
