didn't see an official redskins thread, but everyone should be reminded that the skins are in sole posession of 1st place in the East after the Giants lost last night. (ha!)

Seahawks coming to town Sunday (i'll be there) before a brutal road trip to KC and Denver, followed by the 49ers at home. I think we can be 5-1 going into the giants and eagles on consecutive weeks. I think we'll likely be 3-3, but...

any predictions for sunday?

stopping shaun alexander will be a lot tougher than anything they've done so far, but the defense can hold the seahawks under 20 points

the problem is that the skins offense averages 11.5 ppg

i'd hope that the last 4 minutes of the cowboys game will carry over as far as effective offense goes. i don't know whether that is realistic though.

one thing that hasn't been discussed much is nick novak as the skins kicker. he did really well last week, with the exeption of kickoff depth. he went into pressure at dallas and hit the XPs, and made the game-saving tackle on the returner after the second TD.

yeah I grew up in that area, I remember in first grade we were all encouraged to wear red after the skins won

and there was this one kid who liked the bills. Poor guy.

went to the game sunday.

impressions:
- HUGE home field advantage, great crowd, great great atmosphere... the DC area looooves its redskins
- brunell looked really solid. didnt freak out when the seahawks blitzed a lot on 2nd and 3rd downs. made really good throws, especially in OT... was so clutch.
- we dominated the seahawks in the first half... time of possesion was something outrageous like 25-5 minutes. kept a great offense off the field by continuing to convert 3rd downs (9/14 ... "the most important stat in the NFL")
- defense is awesome against the run - but still struggle to get any pass rush w/o a blitz.

almost the exact opposite of the cowboys game.. sunday we almost blew a pretty solid afternoon of dominating the seahawks with bad D in the last 6:00 and a costly interception. and who ever knew i'd be so happy because of nick novak's presence on a football field...

@ denver this sunday. fuck it, i still think we can win. HAIL.

I say this to you as a man trapped in MD and forced to watch the skins: They suck badly, you beat shitty teams based soley on their ineptness and not your talent OR coaching. you should have lost in regulation but Holgren just coached a little worse than Gibbs. I say this to you as a man who has watched every game: Get a life. 4 of your last 6 posts on this board are naysaying, eye-rolling sarcasm. we're 3-0, just let the optimism be. we've beaten teams that have beaten the chargers and falcons, and we haven't lost yet.
