Point me in the right direction please
I'd like to have all my machines print to it and all that jazz.
I just got one without any documentation and I don't know a damn thing about it.
I've been looking on HP's site, but it's a POS and most of the links are dead/moved.
Thanks! 9/21/2005 2:40:59 AM |

If you have a domain, do ^ on the domain controller and then share the printer.
users can then find the printer in the directory.
Also, if you want the printer to be automatically added to their computer on login, create a VBScript to add the printer and set it as one of their login scripts through a GPO.
If you need help creating the script, googling "VBScript add printer" will probably give you a shitload of examples and ideas. its a very simple script If you need help actually setting up the printer's network port, you have a couple options. You can manually configure the printer through it's onscreen display. Or, if its a newer model, you can connect to the configuration webserver that runs on the printer.
To find the ip address of the printer, on the onscreen display go to Information Menu -> print configuration. The exact menu path may vary, but thats what you're looking for.
For more information on how to perform these tasks and information specific to your model, please read the fucking manual. :-) 9/21/2005 6:17:42 PM |
