Need your car doctored? I can do it. I figured it was time for a new thread, so here it is.

I do mostly Asian imports, though I will work on anything domestic as well.

Give me a holler. I'm inexpensive and I do quality work.

i have a 75 vette i would love for you to tinker on and rebuild the motor, doesnt matter how long it takes you its just sitting now witha blown 400 smallblock, blocks good and not cracked...you could keep it for as long as you need and work on it just when u have time, u know just to see how much power you can get out of it, of course i would pay for the supplies and mess, but what do u think about that offer

^ & ^^...

I will do both. But I can't really cut deals on oil changes. Most places have crap for profit margins on them anyway. Primarily to get you in the door to sell other shit. I can't do an oil change for less than 20-25 bucks. It's hardly worth my time AND I have to dispose of the oil.

Brake pads on a Paseo is no problem. PM will be sent.

Maybe I should reconsider. On a case by case basis, that is. Thanks for your interest, all of you! I'll try to get in touch with each of you, but I'm finding myself trying to schedule too much, and leaving too many people hanging, which is something I don't want to do.

Bear with me!

What can I say? He helped me out big time. He found a problem that I wouldn't have consider looking for. Now my blazer is running better than it was before it died. So if you need shit fixed give him a call.

He was more than fair and up front about everything. He even pointed out somethings that might need adjusting and fixed them as well. Instead of plowing through it and holding out his hand, he made sure everything was ok.

in the past couple of months..i noticed my car's gas-mileage significantly dropped..and its getting worse fast. I remember when I used to get 35 mpg easily..and now, i can barely get like 28(mostly highway too)...
Brand new tires
just got oil changed
tire air is good

It might be that the gas filter needs to be replaced? its running 105k and its never been replaced..i dont think. I know replacing the gas filter isnt cheap..so i dont want to do that unless the problem is 100% that.

Okay...back to the top. Getting into some sort of groove here, and it's looking like I have time to do some more jobs. Yell at me if you need work done, or if you've yelled at me before and I didn't answer (prolly because I was swamped) and still need work done.

how much (only labor of course) to put new front brake pads/rotors on a tahoe? just gonna buy durolast rotors and some lifetime pads for the front. the back drum/shoes i think are fine.

will need the brake job within next 2 months or so.

also, can you check the brake line by chance? seems like i can push the pedaldown too far before response in the brakes.

Pushing the pedal down too far usually means either (a) the rears brakes are out of adjustment. They are most likely drum brakes, and even though they have self adjusters, I haven't seen one that adjusted really well. (b) Air in the lines. This is a big contributor to excessive pedal travel. Air is compressible. Brake fluid is not. You get air in the lines (even a tiny bubble), and it can increase pedal travel.

Hoses very rarely contribute to the problem you describe, as they have a teflon inner liner and don't swell. Unless of course the liner breaks...but then you most likely experience brakes that apply but do not release. The fluid back pressure pinches the liner shut.

Oh...if your front rotors are slip-on (and memory says they are), then between 35 and 40 bucks to put the pads and rotors on. If I have to start taking apart hubs and shit, it gets more expensive. But you don't have that to worry about.

so should i take my car to a place that does a free brake check, tell you the problem, you fix cheaper than if you have to diagnose it? or can you do a free diagnosis?

Tell you what...you get me to do your front brakes, and I'll clean and adjust the rears.

Now as far as the bleeding thing goes, that's 30 bucks extra, provided I can do it. I'm not sure about the ABS setup on your truck. If it has rear only, or a passive style system, then no problem. If it's active (usually as part of an integrated traction control) then you're gonna have to find a shop equipped to handle it.

What year is the truck?

I have a 97 Acura 2.2CL that needs some maintenance.
It is getting very hesitant nowadays. Also, the Idle seems to be at decent 750 (should be 770+/-50) but then there is more vibration than it is used to. Thought I will clean the throttle body and IAC and also change the fuel filter. What is your estimate for time and labor on this?

Thanks.
