yay or nay? is this gonna be the future of mobos and case design or will ATX stay around as the dominant form? i only ask cause it seems as this time Dell is really the only company going with BTX.

smaller is better i guess... i mean the only slots i use on my computer now are the agp slot and a single pci for a soundcard. everything else is onboard.

Gateway has been using BTX for some time. Their cases run a lot quieter than others I've seen, however, they weren't doing it for size.

BTX is the future for everyone. Start getting used to it. It's a thermally superior layout. Several case manufacturers are supporting a modified ATX layout in an effort to emulate what BTX offers since BTX isn't widely avaliable yet.

BTX was released in 2003 and is being spearheaded by intel. However, adoption will be slow given that AMD hasn't commited to the new standard. ATX will still be around for a long while.

BTX is INTEL's form factor.

To my knowledge no other chipmaker has picked up on it, AMD or otherwise.

It makes a lot of sense in the grand scale ideas, but it's got a LOT of scale problems.

i think they made a mistake when they included serial and parallel ports in the BTX spec. That legacy shit should be dropped completely if we're trying to move forward.

I like my parallel port, thank you very much.

Also, unless I'm mistaken, BTX is just a form factor, and doesn't have a thing to do with what's actually on the motherboard.
