It served us well for most of its life.

At the end, it started to get flaky.

It started to forget who had what locks on what databases and would spew up semiphore errors until it would hang.

But it has sent its last message and hosted its last meeting.

Moments ago i issued the shutdown command, and it is doubtful that it will ever come back up.

I watched the services gradually stop, and then shutdown the OS.

Is it gay that I almost shed a tear?

Gay isn't the right word. Being gay is way more normal than what you're describing.

you guys are acting like i have a choice here.

But really, out of all the Lotus products, the Sametime Server and Sametime Connect clients are probably the only two that work very, very well once properly configured.

And i dont know why you'd say sametime is a bad messaging client.

The standalone client works great.

The client built in to Notes does suck balls though.

But notes sucks balls, period.
