Surface
A mysterious sea creature appears in various locations around the globe. U.S. military is called in to close down public access to a carcass of the creature and to enforce mandatory evacuations of the area.


Quarantines and martial law following a hurricane. Military involvement in forced evacuations following natural phenomenon. Isn't this particulary familiar and relevant?

Well, it also seems that the combination of the alien theme with subjects such as martial law and weather modification technology serves the purpose of making it easier for nitwits out there to ridicule people who talk about martial law and weather modification.

1) The glow is not particularly mysterious. It sounds like they've got a pretty good idea what's causing it -- bacteria or protists -- they're just not sure why those things are there in such huge quantity. All kinds of shit in the ocean glows.
2) I've heard several more reputable and less crazy-sounding people than you talk about weather modification on this board. You're not exactly bringing us new information here.

On Invasion last night...

A sudden outbreak of a mysterious disease, possibly some type of "Asian flu", was spreading (first believed by infected escaped baboons).

The government AUTHORITIES discussed curfews, quarantines, and "lock-downs" in response to the "asian flu."

Kind of relevant given the bird flu thing. I'm sure this is just another coincidence.

It's the TIMING. How "convenient" and "coincidental" that this show is advocating martial law in response to both a hurricane and martial law, quarantines, and curfews in response to an outbreak of "asian flu" AT THIS TIME.

Of course outbreak of a disease is not a new concept. But was Outbreak and these other movies openly touting curfews, military enforced quarantines, and martial law in response?

Now let it be known that none of these things are inserted into plots by people making B-Class movies/tv series to make people watch their movies for longer than five minutes.
