i'm not gonna go for any real big increase, might try to get up to 2.0 ghz(currently have 1.7)

how do i do this, tried google for the last couple hours, and i've found out that my bus speed is 400mhz, went into bios but i dont see how i increase the bus speed anymore

its about 3 years old now and i keep it in excellent condition...run virus stuff and spyware stuff atleast once a day and i always get the processes down to like 26-30, i'm just trying to figure out this overclocking stuff now

i guess it wont let me change it though *sigh*

even if you *were* able to all it would do is drain your battery faster and shorten the life of the laptop for what wouldn't even be a noticable gain.

On a system like that the main bottleneck is going to be the memory bandwidth(and overall lack of memory)/harddrive speed. Bumping up clock speed would be worthless.

In fact overclocking, for the most part, is just for geeks who have too much time on their hands and want to brag about their 'system'

horrible idea, you wouldnt get anything out of it other than an unstable laptop that cooks itself.
