dvd's are 720*480 resolution. Your tv isnt even high enough res to play that back at full resolution, hence why it looks "crisp"
on your computer, you are more than likely running 1024*768 or above, meaning the dvd is being stretched past its native resolution. You can use filters and post processing like ffdshow to enhance dvd playback, but you aren't ever going to get it looking "crisp" like true HD will. 10/8/2005 4:42:27 PM |

oh gay. i'm running at 1900x1200.

at that resolution, no filter setup is going to make a noticeable difference.
just deal with fuzzy, or buy laserdiscs, or download HD 1080i rips from newgroups. 10/8/2005 6:50:42 PM |
