My friend installed Half Life 2, Counterstrike, Source, etc. on his computer. He was using another copy and serial number from a friend that doesnt play it then ended up buying his own. I'm pretty sure he uninstalled HL2 and Source before installing it again. He had a problem not being able to open up the games after that. It said something like it couldn't open the game because the internet connection could not be established. In task manager it showed that HL.exe and HL2.exe were both running and he couldn't end either of them. He did some Half Life and Source updates, updated norton and his firewall, and got it to work. He restarted and now his computer wont even boot to the desktop. Its a high end Dell running Windows XP Home and its only about 6 months old. Anybody ever seen the same kind of problem? The HL/CS and his computer worked fine before the install. 10/10/2005 10:00:40 PM |
